It doesn't "fix" anything really....just makes it a bit more responsive....I used a folded up post-it note...

Wow! That really helped the clicking at the corner. I just used a heavy stock paper business card, bigger than shown, and placed it in the middle. Works great!
Thanks

I hate to say this but here goes:
A well designed and manufactured device would not need these "Mods/Adjustments". I really think RIM should have taken a little more care when planning out the "click" touchscreen. Even though this feature is a new thing for the blackberry, there is still a lot of room for improvement. Hardware issues should not be present in the final release and launch of a major product.

I did the business card trick. Folded it in half, cut off the excess, then cut out about a quarter inch slot next to the battery leads and it fit nicely under the battery. The latches now fit snug and dont rattle anymore. It helped typing a ton for me. As for burning, If the BB got that hot, it would burn up BB too, so I'm not too worried about it.

I did the trick, and the screen is definitely a little better. Although, I am not having any problems with mine, just the accelerometer is a little slow, but I am sure they are well aware of it, just hope that they are going to have something to fix it soon!

FWIW, I think my keyboard accuracy is better without the silicone case on. I think I holder it better (less wiggle or something). Nothing quantifiable, just seems like I do better without the rubber on, or maybe I just enjoy it more...

Has anyone experianced any problems with doing this affecting the phones performance. Im all for making it easier to use, but i havent recieved my phone yet, and im really pumped about getting it, and id hate to pop the buisness card in there, and have it mess something up and have to send it back again.

I sliced a raw hotdog (Nathans) REAL thin and placed two slices under the battery and one slice on top of the battery. I do this every morning and by lunch I have three very tasty and well cooked snacks.

just dont fold too thick of a piece of paper or it wont click anymore until you take it out, I just placed a pretty thick card stock in there (very small piece where at first i folded the card in half and it wouldn't click) and now it works perfectly fine...but i also placed 2 pieces in there shortly after, one closest to the screen and one farthest away to even it out...this might help, just incase the pressure sensitivtiy might start to wear out and degrade over time...
just a thought i might give it a shot if i were ya'll, worked fine for me

I found another really neat trick too. You take two hundred dollar bills, place them on top of each other, carefully fold them in half, then place them in the nearest trash receptacle. And that's pretty much what you are doing if the brand new phone you just bought needs to be physically modified in order to work decent.
I can understand that software glitches than can be fixed, but I dont feel like calling up McGuyver just to type out an email on my phone. This is rediculous.

It's really not that big of a deal to have to put a piece of paper under there. If the phone works for you the way it was delivered, then no big deal. If people want to modify it, fine. It's the same for the wiggly battery covers that people have fixed by putting a piece of paper over the battery. Not a big deal, and not necessarily a waste of money just because someone wants to customize the device so that it suits him or her better.

It's freaking sad people have to do stuff like this.
Reading these types of articles really makes me glad I didn't buy a Storm.
It's either the Bold or iPhone for me so eitherway I'll be leaving Verizon when my contract is up.

Great idea
I got this suggestion from a Verizon tech Tuesday. I used a plastic credit card cut to the size of the battery, and most of my frustrations with the Storm disappeared!!

I would think with consistent heat from the battery, your plastic credit card could be indanger of melting, i'd keep an eye on that if i were you.
