I ordered mine (completely new account) this morning at around 9:30am, I got the confrimation email, but when I check my status it says to check again tomorrow they have recieved my order. Hopefully it will be delivered in 1-2 business days like the email states.

Hi guys, okay so, I ordered mine today at the store like at noon here in Los Angeles. I spoke to the manager and he said I would have my Storm by Tuesday..... That shouldn't change right because it was before 2PM....right?

As a Verizon VIP, I have a close relationship with the owner of the local Verizon store. I exchanged e-mails with him late last night. He told me that "the Storm had been recalled just prior to distribution due to a software defect". He did not specify a new delivery date. I have been doing business with this guy for years and he has always been straight and correct on every BB issue.

If this is correct, on Nov 21st, and considering it is necessary to reload the software into who knows how many units, it could take a while. While I cannot speak to the accuracy of the Dec 5 date, it is not unreasonable although a week later seems more likely.

With all due respect to those who had orders processed and deliveries promised (not to mention my own desire to get my hands on a Storm), I would not be surprised if you do not get delivery as promised. Don"t get me wrong ... I hope and pray that you do as it will mean that I will get mine sooner rather than later. 73

ok so, what would my best bet be for getting the phone if i havent ordered it yet. my choices are..

A. order online from vzw.com, and get it dec.5

B.wait until my local vzw carrier store gets the storm, which im not certain when the date is but it isnt a major enterprise carrier.

C. any other fast options you can think of for me

which would be the fastest and cheapest way for me to obtain the phone?

I wish I could offer a suggestion (one of the few times I am without one) but I don't have a clue. I don't think that you can count on vzw.com (or anyone else for that matter) delivering by 12/5. Consider that the delivery date has been promised and postponed several times already. Add to that the problems documents elsewhere on this forum dealing with rollout problems that Vodaphone experienced in England. There is no reason to suspect that their phone is any different from the Verizon version (They do own verizon wireless after all). It is extremely frustrating.

On the other hand, wouldn't you rather wait until the get the major bugs out and then get the phone? Consider how pissed you will be if you get a phone that doesn't work (I would be). 73

I work at the store and after we sold out this morning they went to direct fulfillment and the to a backordered fulfillment to be delivered by 11/25. Then after more were sold then pushed the date for the ones ordered after 12pm to be by dec 5. I would not really count on the store getting any before that as this is the way the voyager lanch was last year. once out they pretty much stayed in a fulfillment only until stock at the warehouse caught up then they started to ship to the stores.

Looks like Blackberry and Verizon dropped the ball on this. They should have waited an extra 2 weeks to get it out. This really sucks...

It's Blunder after Blunder with these carriers, and BB! I must say I'd rather have a bug free unit of any kind, opposed to a paper weight.
