Anyone figure out a way to stop Verizon from sending a text message to your 8130 everytime you have a new voicemail? Isnt that what the damn voicemail icon is for?!?

You can call and ask them, it's a Verizon thing.

That is strange. I've had a variety of Verizon Wireless devices including phones, PPCs, and Smartphones. The Pearl is the only one that ever received a text message for a voice mail. All other devices only showed a voice mail icon. If you do contact VZW and get an explanantion, please post it back here.

I get the text message but there is also a tiny little icon in the message area where you see the text message icon when you get a text. If that little icon that kind of resembles the profiles icon does not show up somethings wrong.

thanks guys...ya, verizon says there is nothing they can do about it...its just part of there system...it drives me crazy...but i guess i'll have to get used to it

Who determined this is a "Verizon thing"? It happens on my Sprint 8130 as well. It could well be an "8130 thing," and therefore relevant to this forum.

Sure is ... and it has nothing to do with Verizon or BB. You need to change an option on your phone. Here goes:

Click -----> Phone -----> Options ------> Call Logging -----> Click NONE and save!!! Viola ... you should be good to go!!!

Pastor, that is good for not logging missed calls, but has nothing to do with Voicemails.

That does not happen to me! I would received the message icon afterward but definitely not a text message.

I am on Verizon and I have become annoyed by that same issue... But as was stated above, Verizon says there's no way to change it... *shrug*
