Default [Solved]Transfer pictures from BB to PC

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all,

I have an issue with a Blackberry 7100.
I have pictures stored on the device memory (pictures mainly) that I would like to transfer to my PC.
I do not have a SIM in this blackberry so I can t email them out
I have the password for the device of course.

I have the BB sw but cannot find an easy option to transfer files (also tested Bluetooth but I have the voice service only, is it possible to transfer files that way?)
Is it possible to extract from a BB backup file

Any tips or help are welcome

Thanks

Fras, I believe the only way you can do this at this point is to do a complete bacup of the 7100, and then you should be able to use this software tool to convert the (*.ipd) backup file and extract the images from it.
Free download ABC Amber BlackBerry Convertor, convert, backup and archive IPD files to CHM, PDF, HTML, Word, Access, Excel, CSV, IPD Extractor

There is not another way that I know of.

Good luck, and welcome to the Forums.

Thank you JSanders,

I will give the extraction software a try, Its sad that there is not a easier way to do this.

I will update the thread with the result (in case someone else has to do this one day)

Cheers

Hi again

So the result :

ABC Amber BlackBerry Convertor did the trick,
I backed up the BB to the ipd file using desktop manager
The software read the file and I was able to view the pictures.
Export of the pictures requires to buy the software (fair enough) but instead
I just captured the photos one by one (size is the same anyway in my case).

SplashPhoto look good I ll try it the next time.

Thank for the great advice

Default Transfering pictures from BB to PC

There's a much simpler way to do it: Click on "media manager" in the desktop manager and it will show your media files in the window on the right, and your PC folders in the window to the left. In the center you will see two arrows pointing in opposite directions. Just open the folder where you want to store your pictures (like in "My Pictures") and click the arrow pointing towards your PC folders. That's all. I have not tried the reverse (loading PC pictures onto my BB), but I am guessing that it is just as simple.

meyer, when you get a chance to read this thread, you will note the OP was using a 7100, for which your options would not work... otherwise, yes much much easier. Thanks.

I am using a pearl - i tried to use the media manager, but clicking on the arrow didn't seem to work. Any thoughts?

I take it back! I had to right click on the device memory icon and then open the picture folder. Highlighting the individual pictures; i could then drag them to a folder on my desktop.
