Anyone hear any feedback of the newer 5.0 builds?

The files-application hast currently AFAIK no function.
Either it is not finished or, more likely, you need BES 5.0 for it to work.
If BES 5.0 is needed, then, it will be impossible to connect to a share if you are outside your home-network/the network where your server is located.

Could you explain why?

I agree this almost certainly requires BES 5.0 but I don't see why the network would influence this.

I guess, the server wil do all authentication/connection/data handling work, and then will deliver the result using the same custom protocol to the device.
This is pure specualtion, but if I had to develop this thing, i would design is like this.

If you are in nirwana, connected to a wifi, its unlikely, the server is able to connect to a server inside this lan.

Msybe, this function will be implemented also in the BIS service, but the same limitations will exist in this case.

Ahhh.... I think I mis-read you original post, thinking that you would not be able to access a share when your BB was not connected to the same network as the share was located on. What you say makes perfect sense once you understand which way we are looking at it.

That's exactly how I would expect it to work.

To get back to the regular call log, go into your previous call list. In options, select "General Options" and change "Phone List View:" to "Call Log"

You could try to use CrackMem and Wipe the device (everything on the BB will be lost)
then again try to load a OS of your choice

Dont you have a backup from the date when you installed this build ?
( you should have, normally this is created automatically by the updater )
If yes, go back to the backup, and sync your changes since then from your PC.

If you are on a BES, there is not much you loose. All important things are saved with the wireless backup (but, better ask your admin before you trust me). Wipe the device and reactivate after installing a working OS.

Back up it from the 10th of this month.

Could you walk me through the wiping process please?

I'm on BIS.

If you go to:
Programs\Common files\Research in Motion\apploader
now, open a dos command prompt.
drag and drop the "loader.exe" application in to the cmd-window (does not work with Vista !) and, add /nojvm + hit ENTER
or execute:
Code:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\Loader.exe /nojvm
This should erase the phone completely before loading the OS.
Load a firmware.
After that restore your backup.
