It's rumored we'll get a a CDMA, flip, 9030, and 8930 this year in there road map, as far as anything solid I haven't heard of yet. And as far as which carrier time will tell.

Haven't heard a release yet, it was just announced at CES '09 a day or two ago.

From everything that I have read soon is a bit of a dream.
Maybe late 09?
Though it looks to be a good one if they do it right. But it will be one carrier only, Sprint I think.

Focus appeared to be on the Storm and 8900 for T-Mo. I haven't heard anything regarding new devices or release dates.

I would like the 8930, but I understand it will NOT have the 3G. Am I wrong? and does it matter?

If/when it comes to Verizon, it will be 3G by default - EVDO already is 3G.

Verizon and BB
The BB is the only smartphoned I've owned as well and it has taken some getting used to but I don't think I could ever move back down to a regular phone. I'm with Alltel and I've been doing my research on Verizon since the merger. I'm leary, I love my Alltel. I don't know what I'll do when I have to switch. I just might switch carriers and phones.

I'd wait and see what happens even though Alltel and VZW were both CDMA there signals worked on 2 different frequencies so we will see if they actually do a full merger.

I saw the video of Palm Pre during the CES here in Las Vegas, NV. You'll be able to watch the video on Palm's official website - Palm.com : Shop : Pre.
This new phone is absolutely a kicker for the Iphone and Storm. They said that it'll be out in the market first half of the 2009. I called Sprint, which will be the official carrier of Palm Pre and they don't have the release date, yet.
I wish that Blackberry would come out with something like Palm Pre, I'll definitely get one.

yea I read about it on tech republic............ (from tech republic)
So Palm did the smartest thing it could: It blew up the whole thing and started from scratch. While a drastically-revamped Palm OS has been rumored for years, most tech industry observers expected a similar-looking platform that was powered by something new (like Linux) under the hood.
Instead, what Palm announced at CES was a fresh start based on the Palm webOS, a new platform architected on Web standards HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The great thing that Palm did with webOS was not try to compete with iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, or Symbian. Instead, Palm thought about the way people currently use their smartphones and then tried to solve some of the nagging problems that no one else has fixed yet.
The result was surprisingly stunning. While the iPhone raised the user interface bar for smartphones so high that no one has previously even come close to nudging it, Palmxxx8217;s new UI does virtually everything the iPhone can do and drops in several important new innovations of its own..............
Jon Rubinstein will definitely help the Palm compete with the IPHONE as he helped develop the iMac and the iPod at Apple before he left in 2006, Sprint is the luckly carrier and checking out the phone it looks nice cant wait to see more.

I live in Canada where we often get RIM equipment a bit earlier than the US. My Telus account rep (the local CDMA service provider) told me that RIM expected to launch a CDMA version of the 8900 this month. Since there are only a few days left in this month, that is unlikely to occur, however if there is any truth to the statement it may be available here in February. Who knows. BTW, it's supposed to be 3G as well as a world phone.

Not going to happen. Late Q3, early Q4 is much more likely.

I wouldn't give up on May or June. VZW has been sticking to something close to a 6 month schedule or so the last few units. May / November
No rumors though...
