I can't seem to get mine to work. the problem seems to be Java Loader. Does anyone have a modified .alx they would be wiling to share?

is anyone noticing an extreme lag when scrolling thru the icons on the Verizon theme? After I loaded mine with the JVLoader and selected the VZ theme, scrolling has terrible lag. When I switched back to the AT&T theme, it went back to normal with smooth scrolling. Is the Curve unable to handle that theme or is something up with my unit???

The 8830 theme on my 8300 works perfectly. No lag at all. In the very begining after the installation it did lag a bit. After a restart its working like normal again. I've had installed for two days and its still working great.

Wouldn't it be nice to have the 8830 theme working on a 8703e device!! I would guess it's not possible being the 8830 theme is working on a different OS........

In case anyone wonders how clean this looks, and imagine it on the 8800 with the dark blue case.

Deleted the alx provided

Here's a recap.

Get the .cod files.
Extract them to the Java folder of your OS - C\program files\common files\reasearch in motion\shared\loader files\OS name\java
Instructions for javaloader are attached. You can find javaloader on the forum here:

http://www.blackberryforums.com/atta...javaloader.zip

Edit your Alx file which will be where the OS root directory is up - one up from the java directory. All I did was add the following line in bold after my ATT theme is listed. This will be slightly different on the 8300.

<!-- AT&T US filesets -->
<fileset Colour="True" Java="1.0" series="8800">
<files>
net_rim_theme_102a_icon_320x240_b.cod
net_rim_theme_105_zen_320x240_b.cod
</files>

We know it works as CrashPush has it working just fine. This seems to be the easiest way.

App Loader didn't recognize it when I tried to add it... any thoughts? Just said that "there are no new files to add" or something to that effect...

I sent you the file to test it so I can upload it. I really don't like it when people post "my work" without even mentioning the one who did it...

There may be issues with the installer-file nobody knows.

Greetings

Sorry misunderstanding - I thought it was clear that I don't have an 8300 and since I have it on my device app loader would not do anything. Please post it if you like.

It's all in the posts below. Not that hard. Get the cod files on the BB and then get your alx modified so it doesnt get taken off.

Default 8830 Verizon Theme .cod and separate .alx

This may be a simpler way for some....

I have extracted this theme and created it's own .alx to go along with it. To install this theme to your 8800/8300 simply download the .zip file linked below and extract it to a folder on your PC somewhere that you won't delete. Then simply use the "add" feature in Desktop Manager/Application Loader and browse to the .alx file. This will put a checkbox in application loader that will load the new theme. Additionally, you can later remove the theme by simply unchecking the box, if desired.

This is an alternate method to editing the Blackberry.alx file as posted above and gets the same results except that with this method you get a checkbox in Application Laoder to install and uninstall.

Hope this helps....

There seems to be some confusion here. The set of files I have has 12 cod files ranging from net_rim_theme_105_zen_320x240_b.cod
to b-11. Can someone try just putting the b.cod on their 8300 and see if that works. I put all 12 on mine, and my edit the .alx prevented it from taking them off, but maybe juse the one cod is needed. Not sure why there are others then and what they do. Can someone enlighten us all.
