Anyone have this problem? I added a 2 GB media card, SanDisk microSD, to my Blackberry 8310 (Curve). I can use the card just fine on the BB, but for some reason, I can't get my media manager, or my Explorer to see the card on the BB. I do have Mass Storage Support turned on.

I'm new to the BB, so I would like to know if there is something I'm supposed to do to get Media Manager to see the media card, that I haven't done already. I'm trying to upload music from my computer to the media card, but it keeps trying to put it on the device memory, thus I run out of space really quick.

Thanks for the info, but I had all of those options under settings>media card already done. The device sees the card just fine. It is the media manager on my computer that cannot see the card in the device. I'm assuming that it is supposed to.

ok, cool, just wanted to check those things.

Your "media manager" is it the Roxio Media Manager in Desktop Manager?

And you said your explorer could not... Do you have another removable drive on your PC on letter E, or F? if so, try changing those to a higher letter, like M, reboot the PC and see if it recognizes the BB card.

I have a pretty complex system and network at my home/office. Drive letters from A through L are being used by drives, CD/DVD or network drives, with the exception of B. Never has caused me a problem before when adding temporary storage devices. E and F are both CD/DVD drives. I guess I could change them, but what a pain.

OK. I looked at my device list on my computer and found that the BB was trying to access the G: drive space. I only saw this after I shut down the BB Device Manager and the Media Manager (which still cannot see the media card). I disconnected one of my network drives and the BB media card came up under the G: drive space immediately. I quickly moved my music files over. I have been listening to the files and am fairly impressed with the quality, considering my wife has an IPhone which also plays some pretty incredible sound.

Anyway, I hope this helps anyone else that has this problem. I appreciate your help, JSanders. I'm glad there are techies out there to help out when needed.

I found a different resolution that finally worked for me. I connected the BB to my laptop but did not launch Desktop Manager. Then I went to Device Manager and removed my BlackBerry. I then scanned for new hardware to add the BlackBerry back in. After that, everything worked fine.

I'm in the same boat you were in.

The device manager uninstalling of Blackberry Smartphone method did not work. The phone was simply reinstalled after detecting changes.

About this method, how did you determine what drive your Blackberry was attempting to access?

It normally tries to access f, g, or h, those high in the list.

I was hoping there was some way of detecting what drive exactly the blackberry is attempting to reach.
