Default Virgin Carrier NOT WORKING on Blackberry Bold 9000

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,
I recently purchased a Blackberry Bold 9000 (My first one ) on eBay.
It's unlocked, so my Virgin (Aus) Sim card works perfectly for sms and phone calls... but apps like windows live and browser wont work with the 3G carrier?
The browser will work with my home WiFi, but the windows live still wont?

Any ideas? How do i connect setup my virgin Wap/Internet/MMS on my new blackberry? Can it even be done?

Does anyone know the Virgin Settings/APN ??!

Any help will be appreciated

Don't know the APN. But it is easy enough to look up. I remember the opera mini web site has a list of apn settings by carrier.

However, if you want to use BlackBerry data and BlackBerry apps (including apps developed by RIM) you will need a BlackBerry data plan. No can do on regular mobile data service.

as stated by aiharkness, you need to have Virgin add a BB data plan to your account and activate it on your BB.

Aaah i see, yeah i was planning on going into a Virgin shop and asking about it..
but Virgin doesn't even sell Blackberrys? That means they wouldn't give me an add-on data plan will they?

I think this outcome looks bleak :(

I've tried a few APN's but they don't seem to work? :/
Virgin has sent me a text message with my WAP settings, but when i try to apply the settings it states, "No supported WiFi profiles found."

Any ideas on that?
Thank-you for your feedback

I just bought an Black Berry Curve from Best Buy as virgin mobile carrier and its data plan rate is 70$ per month.I have a mifi wireless connection of virgin at home and my black berry works well on it.
My father in law uses a hearing aids and the black berry curve is best as mobile phone for him.
We bought hearing aids from India, we ordered them on the cell and it was 40% less than here in USA so it would probally be the same for you.Heres the Clinic info
Perhaps try calling them for some Info.

I thought the VIRGIN service in the USA, did not use a SIMCARD, you had to purchase one of thier phones?

Yes, but the OP is in Aus. (presuming Australia, though could be Austria)
