you must either have pictures for all your contacts in your address book or your just lucky. The same problem happens with other friends that got BBM 5.0. Tested on a bold, storm, curve, and 8900. All the same issue. Only way it shows up is if I have a set picture for each user. The avatars aren't being updated.

Same here...On multiple devices..All different networks.... On a storm, on bolds running 4.6 and 5.0...

This sucks...Love the new BBM ....but this bug is a major bug...

mmm BBM 5 messes up to me around lunchtime till early afternoonish..
I'm guessing that's when everyone is on their BB txting away via BBM that's why it was slow and floodish?

lol could that be a reason lol i Don't know but right now its working great

Mine does not support threaded SMS running an 8900 with os 4.6.1.231.

I saw a screenshot on BGR that shows "PHONE NUMBER" as an option when you click ADD CONTACT.

http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2009/...sion-revealed/

Mine only allows for PIN and EMAIL.

I am assuming this version does not support threaded sms. I am also guessing that the way it will work is that you have to add a contact to bbm as a phone number so that it can be threaded through BBM.

Anyone have any insights?

yes, it seems like threaded sms will work with OS 5.0 whenever that is released unless there's something we're missing..

I have Threaded SMS working on an 8900 running BBM 5.0.0.6. I can contacts directly by selecting Add Contact and entering their phone numer rather than PIN. Contacts are also added when I receive an SMS from them. In both cases they show as 'SMS Contacts' in the BBM Buddy list.

This is not the case on my Bold running BBM 5.0.0.8.
