Default 507 error...7290 won't boot.

I looked up the error online, but none of the fixes were applicable. I can't get the device to respond at all. This is the result of a frozen upgrade of the device software from 3.8 to 4.0.

Has anyone else experienced this?

There's a missing .cod file on the device (so a dependancy isn't met)... the only fix is to reload the firmware.

How? Hmmm... this has worked for me every time:

1) Open DM
2) Plug in the BB, you'll notice that nothing will happen
3) Double-click the Application Loader

It should continue as normal from there... if not, there's some other things that can be tried.

Oh, and make sure the USB hub isn't overloaded with devices... I've noticed on our Dell machines that if I access a USB-drive during an upgrade the upgrade will fail (don't even get me started on Dell pc's).

I tried that initially but could not get the machine to recognize the device at all. I am now upgrading the firmware on a different machine. I think the other machine's USB ports may be defective.

So it's working on the other machine? Good to hear....

I'll put this next little bit in for people searching the forums...

Generally with a 507 the machine won't recognize the device, when you double-click the application loader the application window should come up stating "No actions are required". Click the Advanced button and place a checkmark beside "Erase all currently installed applications", then click Next... then click Finish.
