Default Website not showing on BB 8130 Pearl

Please Login to Remove!

I've designed a "watered down" version of my website for mobile devices and can't get it to load on my phone. I've talked to a friend who says it shows up fine on his 8330.

I've even called my web hosting provider but they can't help because the page shows on the computer. I can load every other page I've tried without any problems, just not mine. I've also cleared the cache and browsing history, without any luck.

I'm using an 8130 Pearl (4.5.0.169) with Alltel.

Here's the site: mobile.natelawson.com

Thanks for any help!

Nate, it appears to be working fine for me, using blackberry browser. (Nice design, too.)

All I can say is check your browser settings, make sure you have everything enabled, experiment with emulation, etc. But perhaps you've already done all that. Also do a hard reset (remove the battery for 30 seconds or so).

Also, did you clear cookies? (You didn't mention that.)

Thanks for the reply. I've cleared cookies, cache, history, the whole nine yards. I've also tried a hard reset, but no luck.

I don't know much about emulators or anything. Is there somewhere I could read up on that?

Thanks again for your help!

I mean the bowser emulation setting in browser options on the blackberry. I have it set to Blackberry, and don't know if makes any difference or not; but if you have it set to something else, you could try setting it to Blackberry.

I also have everything checked on that screen.

Ok, yeah, it's also set to Blackberry and everything else is checked. I think I'm going to run down to the shop and see what they can tell me.

Here I was thinking I was going to be all "Web 2.0" on my phone! Figures.

Thank you so much for your help. If I get it working I'll post the solution here.

Hold on.... I have to ask.

When you say it won't load on your blackberry, what exactly do you mean? I understand it's your website, and you _did_ post a link that _does_ work...but are you in fact entering the URL correctly on your blackberry?

Yeah, I was entering the right url. That was one of the first things I checked!

But I have the solution now...

For some reason I missed a couple check boxes in the browsers options under General Properties that weren't checked and needed to be, the "Enable JavaScript Location support" and "Prompt Before Running WML Scripts". I thought for sure that I had checked them, but I guess I didn't.

So everything works just fine now.

Thank you for your help!

The Javascript location support? How about that! (I've always checked that even though I don't know what it does. I'm surprised to learn it made a difference.)
