Default Problem registering BIS

Please Login to Remove!

Hi guys,

New here so, hi!

Well, bought a new 8310 curve this week, was a ex T-Mobile but never used.

I'm using Vodafone so I called them to add BIS to my account. So far so good.
After a while I still wasn't able to register via the HRT. It says message send but I don't recieve any message or new stuff.

So then I called Vodafone again because the gprs was still not showing in caps (GPRS).
They added BIS again and told me te register via HRT again after 10 mins but still no joy.

As I read every single topic on all forums about this problem, I called T-Mobile to be sure the BB wasn't registered on their systems but they assured me it wasn't.

So now I'm totally clueless, anyone?

Cheers,
Rick

Try pulling the battery with the device on, leave it out for about 30 seconds, reinsert and let the device reboot.

Have you tried signing into the BIS via the Web from a PC?

What if this blackberry locked to T-Mobile? You won't be able to use it on Vodafone until unlocked, then.

One would think Vodafone would see the Pin is locked and inform the user... Right?

Well the phone is unlocked, at least there is no simlock as I can call and SMS.

Called Vodafone serveral times and all their settings are ok. When I put my sim into the Curve of my girlfriend it all works fine.

So I called Voda again and now they tell me there could be another lock provided by T-Mobile? anyone heard about this?

Have had this said to customers before and unfortunately it seems to be either lack of understanding or unwillingness to help on the networks part.

If your handset is unused (and i'm taking that literally) than T-Mobile would not have registered the PIN.

Try visiting mobileemail.vodafone.net BlackBerry Internet Service and creating a new account (PIN and IMEI to hand); this will at least answer the question as to whether it is registered with T-Mobile by informing you.
It may also ask to you register again manually via the HRT option or, fingers crossed, start working!

If you do have to speak to Voda again, ask them to check your AP set-up for BIS.

All the best
