Default MSN for 7100i.

Please Login to Remove!

This is the tricky part.
I really want MSN messenger on my phone, but is there a way that I can send the download to my phone, like in a text message?

All sites I find just send me a link, and tell me to go to the website, but that is not what I am looking for.

Example, you know how if someone sends you a picture in Blackberry messenger and it Says download or cancel right there in the message? Something kind of like that.

I really hope that made sense.

Please and thank you for any help.

mobile.blackberry.com

Scroll down to instant messaging and choose Windows live messenger.

Did you try going to BlackBerry Wallpapers, Ringtones, and More using your device browser? From there click the link for Instant Messagaing.

@ TT: Those are if you are using your blackberry browser, which I stated in my first post, I can not use, and I am looking for one sent in a text message that I can download that way.

@ Juw: No, I can not use it and looking for a different way of getting it. By not using the browser or using a PC.

Why can't you use the browser?

It is kind of tough to explain, but let's just keep it at water damage and now it is corrupt.

YES, I KNOW. It is an easy fix, but I'd rather find another way of getting it via text or something.

So...I'm confused. The phone has water damage, but you want to install an application on it?

Does the phone work? Do you have a BlackBerry data plan?

Yes, it HAD water damage, but I did the old rice trick and it has turned on so I am looking to put MSN on it.

It has a data plan yes. I use AIM on it and Yahoo. Not to mention work emails.

Perhaps I'm just not 'getting' it, but why are you trying to avoid using the browser to install MSN?

This sounds a bit fishy to me. Is this device on a corporate BlackBerry server and the IT Policy blocks installing 3rd party applications?

Because I'd rather not use the browser because I want to see if there is other ways of downloading it, and no it is not blocking 3rd party applications, I'd just rather not use the browser to do so. When I downloaded AIM through the browser it corrupted a system file and I kept getting a 350 error and had to re format the devise losing a lot and I'd rather not risk it again.

Backup with DM and install it via browser....

Edit.

That's the only way.

I doubt that is the only way, because I have a buddy that downloaded different applications and I.C.Q. the same way I am looking to download it.

I highly doubt the way you downloaded the previous application is the reason you received the errors. More likely than not, you received the errors from the application itself. Regardless if you installed it OTA or via DM, you would have received the same errors.

Well downloading MSN through OTA is what I am looking for, and no the errors were not from the AIM download, they just happened more often when I got the software.

You can only install OTA via the BB Browser. Your only other option would be to install via desktop manager.

I found what I was looking for, without using the manager and the browser.

Thanks for all the time.

It is kind of a back way of doing anything really, but I have the Google apps set on my phone, and it has an Icon for gmail. I sent the download to my email, instead of downloading it to the computer, then used the download on my phone. So I used the internet on my phone to get it, I just did not open my browser to do so.

ALSO: You can find your PIN by going into options then status on your blackberry. It is the 5th on the list for me.

Clicking on the link in the email will launch your browser.

Thanks for the tip on finding the PIN! You're a life saver

It didn't open the browser, it just opened a message looking thing, like if you are sent a picture through your BB messenger, and where you click accept or cancel.

And sure glad I could help.
