Facebook Ate My Contacts
Please Login to Remove!
I hope this isn't a rehash of another post. I deleted the FB app this morning because of the endless 503 errors I was getting. Upon reboot, I found that every single one of my contacts had been deleted, including those not linked to FB. Given that I use my phone for work quite often, I'm naturally a little concerned. Is there a way to restore my contacts? Thanks much.

Do you have a recent backup?

I have a backup, which I am in the process of restoring. We shall see. Just wondering if there was something else I could try before going down this road.

If your contacts are not on your device, the only way to get them back is to do an advanced restore of your address book.

Restoring my backup file failed to restore my contacts. Very odd.

Did you try an advanced restore?

I did not. I'll dig around for info on how to do that. Thanks.

Were you sync'ing your contacts with anything? If they are not on the device, and not in a backup file, then re-sync'ing with something you previously sync'd with is your last resort, short of manually entering again.

No, they weren't. Many, not all, contacts were connect to Facebook contacts. A painful lesson learned, which I apparently needed. Never doing that again.
That aside, what could cause all my BB contacts to be wiped out by deleting the FB app?
