Stupid question but how do I find how much free memory I have? I tried the Alt-Shift-H and that didnt work. After upgrading to .110 and adding Doc to Go and Viigo I'm curious to see how much space I have used and have available.

thanks!
All you need to do is resend the books so that you can view email in html.

I'm having difficulty increasing my volume.

Just did a double soft-boot and this time, 21.9 megs "file free" on my 8310. Incidentally, my program list changed a tidbit from my prior post... del Facebook, installed The Hockey News. Both aps about the same size though.

I had to, I noticed the phone seems to work fine before I restore "my info" back onto it. I actually loaded the apps first before restoring info. Even with the apps I believe it was ok until I "restored" my data (address book, calender, profiles, etc etc).

Hmmmm
Yeah, I guess I will downgrade at this point since nothing I have tried works.

Hope this didn't just brick my phone...I got a fatal error while it was updating. I'm gonna try again. No the program didn't crash, the BB software told me there was a fatal error!

no one has been able to respond to my small question... on any forum... So when someone sends u and other people a picture/video message all the way at the top u see who they've also sent it to right? well ever since I upgraded to this OS it doesnt do that... it just shows me as the only recipient when I know for a fact I'm not... has anyone else noticed this with this OS or is it just my phone? Do I gotta change some settings? Cuz I think this would be a difference in the OS...

Is there any advantage to doing an OTA install? I am sure it will take longer, but is it any easier?

And do you do it from the options / Advanced page => Wireless Upgrade?

delete .110 from your PC-> download .108 to your PC->
use the Loader.exe located in the Apploader folder(same folder where Vendor.xml is located) plug USB cable into BB-> click on Loader.exe->select downgrade ->light up a smoke-> pop open a beer->turn on the Jerry Springer show->wait for your BB to holler at ya

So hardly anyone is noticing a slow down with 4.5? Why am I the exception? I want all those cool new features, but just went back to 4.2 to get my responsiveness back.

What was wrong with your responsiveness? My BB application speed improved w/.110 along with the browser speeds..the complaint I have is the volume level is to low!

I did the upgrade from the stock OS. With the old OS, i got little signal in my office and was hardly able to use my BB (too much breakup). With this new version, i get a good signal with little breakup. So that was worth it! I also like the HTML email Browser is also better now IMO. Sound quality of calls has improved (fuller sound is the best way i can describe it.) So overall a good update! Just did the DocsToGo upgrade OTA and now have the Sheets To Go as well. Awesome

Everything was just lagging. When I would click on an application, or even to open an email, there was a split second delay in opening the program or email. When I would escape from an email or program it was the same thing, just a bit of a lag, but it was noticeable, and enough to make me go back to 4.2. Also, although the stock AT&T theme was supposed to look the same, it is different and I was not digging the new theme and they dropped the System font.

I guess I'm kinda new at all this, but what is the big deal about how much memory you have? I have lots of apps and usually have about 5-8 mb of memory. Don't have any problems that I know of. Web sites load asap, etc. What am I missing by not having 15-20 mg of memory???

Default I did it

Somehow, it just seems wrong to take a brand new BB that is working perfectly and modify it in such a way. Might have something to do with that old adage of leaving well-enough alone. But I did it anyway.

Went from 4.2 to 4.5.0.110 and the weird part is that it took all of 32 minutes. This is on a computer I built myself 4&1/2 years ago. I will admit it's no slouch, ;). But the BB came out perfect on the first try. And I have to admit, the browser seems a lot faster but since I only finished it 20 minutes ago, I can't tell much about batt life or anything except all my email accounts are active and working. That's the most important feature I use besides the browser.

I did loose all my customization that I put in previously. I followed John Clark's post about how to add the BBMaps and additional themes to my AT&T BB and that's all gone. But I think I read somewhere around here that it is possible to retrieve or reinstall that stuff. I really liked that "Orange" theme from one of the other carriers but I'll give it a bit and make sure all is well.

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)

You have to follow the optimizing post again for the new OS. Just make the edits for the OS you just installed. Pretty simple.
