Does anyone have an unlocked 9900 showing H rather than 3G?

I have the same issue. Talking with ATT several times, they state that my IMEI is actually for a 2G device even though it is already on ATT 3G and has the same bands as ATT's 4G (HSPA+) Blackberry 9810.

Since it isn't an AT&T branded device, you are probably outta luck. 3G is probably all you should expect.

smane, did you have to call ATT? Are you on BES or BIS data plan? Are you running Rogers OS and what version?

On BIS data plan, I upgraded to the .353 OS, and I've never called ATT.

The original vendor ID is 416 which is VE Regional PRD. Not positive where that is, Costa Rica? The physical phone does not have any logos.

I am also have a Rogers 9900 unlocked that I am using and getting H+. I am on BIS and never had to call ATT. Has anyone using Rogers been able to get visual voice mail working or at least get the voicemail icon (small tape recorder) to work. Neither is working on mine.

You might have to enable H+ in Manage Connections > Networks and Connections > Mobile Network. I know that on the CDMA side you have to turn on 4G separately so maybe it's the same on GSM?

Rambo, I had looked there earlier. 4G does not show up there. It appears that either I should have bought an unlocked Rogers or it is the BES plan. Both that work have a Rogers on BIS and both that don't show H+ are from Mexico or points south. Suprised that there only four unolocked 9900s running on ATT network. Anybody else have any input or suggestions?

After more research I have been hearing that the unlocked 9900's running on AT&T run at the same speed whether they show H+ or 3G. I would appreciate seeing your speeds on these speed tests - iPhone speedtest or Mobile Speed test .

I have a 9900 from Mexico with OS 7.0.0.353 on ATT BES plan showing 3G but within AT&T's H+ coverage area with wireless shut off. My results on Mobile Speed Test are between 800 and 1000 kbps and on DSL Reports between 1000 and 1300 kbps. Interesting that if I increase the file size on Mobile Speed Test from the standard 100kb to a 2 MB size my speed now shows around 9,000 kbps.

How are your speeds?

I suppose a BES IT Policy could restrict use of 4G. Perhaps it's done to conserve battery power? The basic BlackBerry data plan itself will not restrict 4G use though.

Hi Knotty, I expect since you are running a 9810 that H+ is displayed on your official AT&T 9810. My unlocked 9900 from Latin America showing 3G ran 3,053 on the 0.5 meg file so it must be running H+ while displaying 3G. What I have heard is that only the Bell companies are marketing the interim H+ (sort of 4G) while other wireless comapanies are just making faster 3G speeds.
