Default 8830 bluetooth with Kenwood DNX8120

Please Login to Remove!

My auto stereo installers are unable to keep the bluetooth connection up between these two units (it will not connect again after car is turned off unless totally reinstalled). Other phones work fine. Is there a fix???
HELP!

K.Money,

I know your pain! I am having the same problem with connecting my 8830 to my DNX8120. Since installing the DNX8120, I have been able to connect the 8830 two times. There is some problem between the bluetooth stacks in each of the devices, I want to lean more towards the 8830 because after pairing, and then leaving the car, the phone still thinks its connected to a bluetooth device. To fix it, a battery pull is required from the phone..

BLAH!!!!!

I wonder if the DNX8120 works with any of the other BB's available? Hopefully it will play nice with the Thunder

Cheers!

Ouch. I have an 8310 and have absolutely no problems connecting it to my DNX7100. That's one of the things I tested out at the stereo shop before I even bought it.

Thumbs up

While this thread is a little older, I wanted to post an update on this. Kenwood has posted an updated Bluetooth module on their site (version 1.60)that resolves the issue with the Blackberry Curve. I have the 8310 and had to use a work-around previously to get it to automatically connect. Since installing the bluetooth module update from Kenwood, I have not have a bit of problem. The phone automatically syncs and I also have use of the address book, recent calls, etc.

I can't post a link yet, but go to Kenwood USA site, then to support, and then to the Technical & Firmware/Software Downloads under Car Entertainment. Look under Support for "About the Bluetooth Module firmware updater".
