Is anyone here actually using it or are people just claiming it? Can we get a screenshot of the about screen?

I doubt anyone could send a shot that's using it now. If you optimize your memory that section becomes disabled. I'd trust johns statement though

Yes, you can take a screen shot of the "Help Me" screen either way.. EACE or ALT SHIFT + H.

It's strange how the GSM versions float around almost immediately after release but the CDMA releases are locked-up tight. .45 is fairly stable, but newer is always more fun. ;)

Well, at least two people are bragging about having it, and about having downloaded it. The fact that they don't provide links pretty much says they're either official testers and unable to post links... or lying.

Yep, we're all liars here. That's us. Great first post.

And this is why there are no links here.

Unable to post links, not lying. Excellent first post.

Great first post. So which am I: RIM or lying? Believe me, there are other categories other than than those two choices.

I never said I had it, but that is an actual screenshot of it running..., and reportedly well, at that.

Perhaps my last post was poorly worded.

Let's break it down, shall we?

Either you:

- Can't post the beta and/or screens thereof, because you are morally/ethically prevented.
- Can't post the beta and/or screens thereof, because you don't have it.
- Won't post the beta and/or screens thereof.

If you are an official tester, you fall into the first category. There are, I'm sure, other people who fall into that category - reviewers, industry insiders, etc.

Liars fall into the second category. Are you in that category? No, I never said you were. The two braggarts aren't even on this forum, actually!

The third category are ... well, I'm just not sure. People in the third category are either morally self-righteous or just plain a-holes. One could argue that the morally self-righteous ARE a-holes... but I don't make that value judgement!

I'm sure the lot of you are firmly in the first category, prevented by rule or law or personal conviction not to break a promise. There are, however, a certain class of rapscallion, rogues and knaves who post in the many and varied BB forums posts such as:

"I just downloaded 4.5.0.51 and am installing on my 8830...

UPDATE: Works great, shift-select is fixed, there are still a couple bugs such as (blah blah). Go ahead and ask me questions about it, but I won't tell you where I downloaded it!"

(I'm paraphrasing but that's a literal post...)

SO please get your knickers out of their twist. I'm not mocking you, or accusing. I'm just describing the general class of people who insist that a thing is available and WAY COOL, but then provides no proof thereof.

Um....you're not getting off to a good start here in this thread. Nobody has done anything of the sort...of any of your "three groups."

Nobody is allowed to do anymore than that here. Posting links to beta software is against forum policy and illegal. I guess we could cut all chatter about OS 4.5 versions that are not released and nobody would know anything about any of them.

You are out of line...Post number 2 is worse than post number 1. This is not the way to start your time here at BBF.

Oh, contraire!

BINGO! Group 1. Forum policy and legality prevent you from posting.

I think you need to find another forum. You obviously don't like this one. I didn't see anything wrong with the OP's post.
