Default Loving BES

Please Login to Remove!

I'm a Mac user. Last week I signed up for hosted BES. It meant using Entourage and I prefer Apple Mail. But what I get is wonderful to me. My emails, calendar items and contacts all synchronize wirelessly and almost instantaneously in Entourage. BES will also wirelessly synchronize tasks and memos but Entourage doesn't support this. I hope that the new version of Entourage will support it. It is due out later this year.

I have over 1200 contacts and they are always current now both on my device and on my Mac. I also have access to a Microsoft web interface that I can use from any computer and it is fully synchronized.

The experience is much more satisfying to me than synching by wire with Pocket Mac. My BB is becoming my primary device for contacts, calendar and email. If I delete or file an email on my BB it shows up that way in Entourage. I don't have to process email twice.

It does cost me about $21 a month with 500 MB of sever side storage. To me it is worth it.

I just wanted to share my experience. It works great on a Mac. So if you're thinking of taking the plunge, the water is just fine . Come on in.

Is anyone using Apple Mail with BES? I am just curious.

Default Mac lover

DC Lawyer.
On august 1st, you are gonna have another alternative to sync. imobimac.com is pretty sweet. I have tested it and it worked great. Perhaps you may want to check it out. I take it you are a lawyer. Do you bill your time?
I love my mac as well. It's just the best computer. I have never tried the Apple Mail. I use Entourage and am pretty happy with it.

Thanks for the tip about imbimac. How does it work?

Macs are great. I actually prefer Apple Mail. Spotlight searches are great with it. But I like the BES functionality of Entourage and MS has an update on the way later this year.

BES has helped me to simplify my life.

DC Lawyer, I have to agree with you - having your Blackberry on a BES is worth the money. I'm about month away from putting my Blackberry on a BES.
Something else that excites me is the iMobimac Modem. It's gonna give us Mac Lovers a way to use our Blackberry as a modem. Check it out imobimac products | Blackberry as a modem for a laptop for a Macintosh. But imobimac does not allow synch. It just allows you using your BB as a modem for your mac. I am sorry for the confusion.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

I now use my BlackBerry 8830 as a bluetooth modem with my PowerBook. What will this new service add?
