Default Newby Mac User Needs Help

Please Login to Remove!

First time BB/Pearl user (yesterday).

I installed Pocketmac. Seems fine for synching, but can't figure out how to load MP3s (or anything else via desktop). Have successfully downloaded some "over the air" apps, no problem.

Also curious why trackball/keys are bright sometimes, other times not (same ambiant light).

Also, no "vibrate" ringer...?

Thanks in advance.

  1. MP3 and files: Plug in your blackberry via USB, then wait for the drive to pop up on your desktop. then open up, Make a Blackberry folder. then inside it, make:
    • Music
    • Pictures
    • Videos
    • Ringtones
then drag your mp3 and audio files into the Music folder.
  2. The keypad gets bright or dim according to your environments light conditions. The light sensor (near your LED @ top right) detects if the screen has to be brighter (like in direct sunlight) or lit but slightly dim (dark/night) or not at all in mediocre conditions.
btw...your trackball has light variances? I thought it didn't...mine always seems to be lit at the same level of brightness. :p still wish you can choose brightness levels for the trackball...lol
  3. There is a vibrate option. Go to your menu and choose profile, then change your active profile by scrolling to it and pressing down on the trackball. If yuo don't likee what you see, go to ADVANCED (in same Profile menu) and change whatever you'd like.

mine only mounts if i have a microSD installed in the bb.
I transfer mp3 via Bluetooth but not sure how to do it over usb.
Also device memory limits files to 2.86 mb i think.

Pretty sure you need to have a SD card installed to mount the 8800 as a drive on OSX. That's how mine works anyways.

You can also send files via Bluetooth on your Mac. Just make sure the two are paired, then surf to the folder on your 8800 where you want to place the file. Then click on Options/Receive File via Bluetooth. On the Mac side, fire up Bluetooth File Exchanged (stored under Applications/Utilities) and then pick the device, pick your files to xfer (can highlight several at once, although you'll need to press OK on the 8800 several times to accomplish batch xfers) and off they go.
