I have my 7100t (t-mobile) and Like it. I thought posting some critiques might allow others to do the same and possibily allow others to post solutions or work arounds:

1.) Low Call volume
2.) No cradle
3.) Screen hard to read outside
4.) Quick list of apps used most frequently

1) I haven't quite expierienced that, but I usually use headsets and it has been plenty loud for me there!

2) Eh. The 7230 and 6xxx "Cradle" is so lame I don't care if they give you a half-assed cradle or not. If you can't sync and charge from something you latch into the device, it isn't a cradle. It's a stand.

3) Stay inside! I do find it funny that a device that ideally lets you escape the chair and desk and go outside now and then is unusable in sunlight. Funny, that.

4) I use them all, but I find it inexcusable that I can't launch applications using keyboard shortcuts.

Someone reported the screen was readable enough for them if you maxed out the backlight brightness on outdoors use. But that eats lots of battery power!

Agreed. I am usually on a two-wheeled vehicle and can't consult a device while en route anyway, so I don't really notice such things unless I'm walking around while shopping outside, etc.

I put my brightness down to 65% or so. Still very bright indoors and ... unplugged from overnight power at 10:30am today, have been in the office and around town, showing off the 7100 to those who know what a BlackBerry is, sending 15 emails and getting who-knows-how-many and browsing news.google.com and providence craigslist...

whew.

85% battery.

i don't think I'll go half a week like the 7230, but to be honest as long as I can go out of town for the weekend and not buy a cable while i'm away i'll be fine.

We just received 5 test units-I must agree and to add to that, the default theme from T-Mobile seems a bit to manuever around. There is a default theme which actually looks more professional.

Brand new to BB but not to smartphones in general. Just picked up a 7100t and am overall impressed by it.

Biggest annoyances so far:
1) Slow response time after pushing the dial button or selecting an option, appears to be underpowered.
2) Once you scroll down through a list of things (or icons) and get to the last listing/icon, you cannot continue scrolling down to quickly jump to the top of the list or first icon. You have to scroll all the way back, which for a slow device, is really annoying.
3) Difficult to see the screen outside or in the car. I've found this to be true for almost every cell phone with a color screen. The exception being those few phones/pda using a total reflective screen, which I believe some of the traditional BB's use. Why not use such a screen with the 7100t? Consumes less power and has greater visibility.

IMO they need to allow for SIM dial from home screen like every other GSM phone I've ever used.

<sim position> + # + talk/send

Via this method, every other handset on my desk has over 250 customizable speed-dial locations.
