Default Duplicate Emails

Please Login to Remove!

I am on BES 4.1 with Exchange 2003. A handful of our users are reciveing duplicate emails. A quick fix is to remove and re-add them back onto BES but just wondering if there is anything else I can do or if anyone else knows an alternative fix

Help....

If they are getting duplicates on the BB are they not also getting them in their Outlook? If so, then I don't think remove and re-add to BES is the answer.

try the "reconsile now" option under messages. There is obviously something wrong with the activation process on these users since just reactivating them fixes the dub emails. Did the dub emails for these users just happen out of nowhere, or it been like that since activation? Make sure they don't have their business email setup under the BIS account also. Check the "received using" and "TO" field on both messages to make sure they are both the same.

They are not getting duplicates in Outlook. For one user earlier this morning, an add and delete from the BES fixed him. Does not make sense....

Will try the reconciliation step as you mentioned. This just started happening to them recently. They are all just using mail accounts from our Exchange server.

I have two users with this problem and the add/delete from the BES isn't fixing it. Outlook account is fine.

reconcile now doesn't do anything for these users. At this point neither does their admin. ha.

Check to see if there is another account (like [email address]) getting messages forwarded to their mailbox? If this is the case, blackberry.net is sending to the device and mail server. Bes is picking up from the mail server and sending to the device. Check the "To" addresses in the duplicate emails on the device.

Cool

We had this too. Blackberry Internet Service and BES were both setup on the handheld for the same account.

This Link is what I looked at to get started. I had to go in and have the user delete his BIS account as it was configured to get his corporate email. You can't have the same email account configured to use BIS and BES.

We also had some users create gmail accounts and configured them to send messages to their BBs. This Link will explain this fix in full.

I hope this helps.
