Well, the full retail on the Tour 9630 is $489.99. Full retail on the Storm 2 9550 is $539.99.

So you are probably looking at somewhere in that neighborhood.

I found the 8830's track ball relatively easy to switch out. Sorry I know that's not the answer you were looking for.

My 8830 track ball is hosed, and I've been eligble for a new phone for like 4 months now. What's the hold up!

I'm about to jump ship and get an HTC incredible, but I don't really think I'll be a fan of the touch screen.

Anyone heard anything?

gschoelles,

The track ball itself isn't the problem. It is the button spring under it. It looks like the spring is bi-metal and has delaminated somewhat (e.g no more clicky, clicky). I have heard there is a replacement for the spring, but with the 8650 carrot on the stick it never seemed worthy of tracking it down.

It's all a moo (sic) point anyway. I should be ordering my 9650 tomorrow.

I'll probably order one in next month or so.....wait until after initial release to see what others' experience is. (i.e., any major probs with first round.) Will pay full price since I'm not eligible for upgrade at this time.

I intend to order tomorrow. Bye Bye Tour. I think the Wifi is important and is worth the upgrade

Default Will have mine on Friday

Spoke to my accpunt rep a few minutes ago, and I'm locked & loaded for a 9650 to ship out tomorrow for overnight delivery on Friday AM.

Looks like the device will ship with 5.0.0.699

I've been disappointed with the last two phones I've picked up on launch day (9530 & 9630) so I'm really hoping the 9650 on 5.0.0.699 is smooth and lag free!!!

That's what I did when I was with TMO. Not sure why I thought I wouldn't want to upgrade more often when I switched to Verizon last fall.

Default Bold Available on VZW

As I speak, the 9650 is available on the Enterprise Account management website for a new line and for upgrades.

However, when you click the links, the 9650 isn't yet on the list. Maybe after midnight it will be!!

YAY!

I called Verizon tonight and they had no information for me, how'd you do it? How much did it cost too?

Sorry, I was kind of misleading by leaving out a few details. My order was placed via my business account rep.

He gave the heads up a few weeks back that the business channel launches on 6/3 and retail ~1 week later. Don't know if that means that no non biz/govt account will see it until next week, or if consumers will be able to order via phone/web and it just won't be on store shelves until next week?

I have a major decision to make soon, I need a new phone...desperately, but I am not ready for an upgrade. My choices are sticking with my Tour and eventually blowing it up, buying out my Verizon contract, going to ATT and getting the IPhone (Cheapest believe it or not), buying a Droid or potentially buying this phone at 400+

Mine is ordered!!! Just finished. With our enterprise discounts, the total cost was only $127.49!!!!
According to the website, it shows normally as $249.99 minus $100.00 for a total of $149.99.
There IS a no-camera version on there, for those who need that.

Looking good. Just got my shipping confirmation - 9650 will be delivered to my office before 10:30 tomorrow.

Unfortunately, I'm heading out of town tonight and won't be back until late next week, so I guess my 9650 will be sitting on my desk collecting dust until I return.

Got my Tour July 12 of last year so I have another month till upgrade. Hopefully they will get the bugs out by then and have a stable (ish) model.

I have a Blackberry tour and want the wi-fi, track pad, additional memory and other features of the 9650. Should I wait for a few weeks to see if the Bold 9650 has problems. Or should I just order it and rely on software updates to solve problems?

Also, does Verizon make any hardware changes to phone in the first few months to fix problems our just fix problems with OTA software updates?

Thanks!
