Default Did anyone else get a BING icon on their Blackberry Today?

Please Login to Remove!

I had to do a battery pull to reset my phone today (long story why), and when it came back on I had a "BING" icon?

Has Microsoft invaded the Blackberry too? This sort of pissed me off.

Check.... It's just a download link, right?

If that's the only gripe you have, count yourself lucky. I don't even count the stuff that's been pushed to me. I just hide it and then carry on. Not much you can do about it.

I got this too today. I clicked on the app/link which took me to a new service agreement, I agreed to it, then it tried downloading the bing app. I canceled that install, but then I could surf to any webpage in the browser, the "Go to..." option in the submenu was gone. I then deleted the Service Book for Bing, which got rid of the icon, and now my "Go to..." option is back in the Browser and all my search options are there. After a reboot bing is back on the home screen but everything is untouched . I just hide the icon now, hopefully it won't delete my search options

Must be a MS/VZW thing. No Bing from Sprint (yay!)

I found the Bing icon the other day but didn't think much of it until I made the mistake of clicking on it. I clicked on "Do Not Agree" at the bottom of the service agreement as per the instructions; however, Bing became my default browser.

I deleted the Service Book through Options/ Advanced Options/ Service Book/ Bing and my browser now defaults to my Google page.

VZW, sneaky move.

fireman, it will push back again, but yours is a good idea to delete the service book... even though only temporary.

very clever, and thanks for explaining the bing thing...it annoyed the hell out of me. I did the service book change too. At least it'll last until I next boot, and will get the pleasure of pushing it away again.
I thought it was malware...and now I know it was!

I am on our company's BES and Bing does not appear at all. My wife is on BIS and Bing showed up on hers but she still has the "Go To..." and it defaults to Google.

And it will just come back the next time Verizon pushes it. Just hide the icon.

I actually decided to give this a try, just to see.

I think it is very comparable to Google's application, with at least one fatal flaw so far. It does voice search, but you have to click through the menu for it to listen instead of holding the talk button like Google. Other than that, it is pretty good.

Still going to delete the app!

It might only get pushed to those with the updated software. I update Blackberry App World a few days ago and now I have Bing. My son who has the identical Verizon curve has not updated his software. No Bing.

BlackBerry App World 1.1.024

Come to think of it I also updated the Blackberry OS. "About" says I am on v4.5.0.138. Is that recent as of a week or two ago?

Again, son has not updated. (Probably ever)

It showed up on mine today. It seems to be similar to live search which I use alot, so I don't mind. Is the problem that people don't like the app or the fact that it showed up?
