I am experiencing the SAME EXACT issues as Sean...

After sitting outside the Verizon store for over an hour to be the first one in line before they opened Sunday, my anticipation quickly turned into dissapointment. Dont get me wrong I love the look, feel, camera, and global capablity, but lets be serious this is a phone and the quality sucks (for lack of better words).

I called Verizon and sat on the phone with tech support while they trouble-shooted every possible thing they could. They opened a trouble ticket for me and told me to wait 5 days for a responce (normally 24 hours but supposedly they are backed up). I tried to exchange the phone today but non were available. I tried a test call on the demo phone in the store and it had the same problem so it leads me to believe that a swap is not going to do any good. I am going to give it a couple more days but I think I might just have to return it and go back to my 8330.

Mine works perfectly so far. I've asked everyone I've spoken with today, and they all say loud and clear. Sounds like there might be some lemons out there.

Just checking, but you do know that if you HOLD the BB Menu down, it is meant to display the App Chooser, while if you just click it, it gives you the full home screen.

It's a feature (and a great one).

You can also click the BB menu to confirm the selected menu item, which rocks.

I had the issue the first 2 times. Three is a charm.

Phone is outstanding. I only have network issues in home. I wont say more because that would be double posting

I have always had issues with hearing people on my headsets. All headsets. Today I was about blown out of the water by the volume at 3/4 of the way up. Comfortable talking while driving and the volume was below 1/2 on the Tour. That would have been all the way up on my Curve.

Love it love it love it so far!
Curve issue may be to OS. I was using .160 had an echo. The Tour is off to a good start

Two more Tours coming in tomorrow for employees. Time to steal a CD and see if it works OK.

I absolutely agree. I was getting very tired of speakerphone blast, low BT volume, complaints of muffled voice, and the dreaded "answer and you can hear them but they can't hear you" that was going on for a while.

Excellent, excellent device so far.

Mine works great in every regard, except for my outgoing Bluetooth volume, which people report to me as very low, including the Verizon folks that I have demonstrated it to during support calls. I too would hate to have to return it and unwind my contract, but they have nothing for me to upgrade to from my 8830, if not the Tour.

You guys are great. I didn't know about holding the menu key down and getting the app chooser. For those who might be unhappy with Verizon, I had used most of the other wireless carriers at one time or another, and really -- Verizon is the best. Even Consumer Reports says so. As far as individual stores, I agree with other posters who said do NOT go to a kiosk where they sell everything...go to a regular Verizon store, and if you don't like the employees, find another. The store I go to is fantastic...sure, you have to wait just like everyplace else (pack a lunch) but they have always been super nice to me. Tour #2 works great, and with everybodys' hints in this forum, it's going to work even better.

PS: The CD that comes with the phone does NOT work. I have both XP and Vista computers--zilch. Download from the website.

My Tour has better phone quality than the 8830 it replaced. However, I have a charger or battery problem. It did not charge last night when it was plugged in. I had to turn it off in order to get it to charge. Hope this is fixed by BB or Verizon or the Tour goes back.

I would monitor that closely. That seems like a hardware issue.

I thought it was a cool phone--my wife and I both switched from TMobile and got Tours. Great Blackberry--terrible phone. No one could hear us when we talked to them. We returned them both and switched back to TMobile.

I'd have to agree with Michael12005 on this one. Sound quality on the Tour thus far (knock on wood!) has been outstanding...best BB phone I've owned to date. Then again, this is only my first week with the device...

I called Sprint pcs 100 times The phone's lower portion and the keys, get warm when either charging or using the phone. The Blackberry department of sprint pcs is useless and stupid. All they care about is their customer service ratings. Learn The phone before selling it to the customer . I don"t even think they are reading these notes. Please, if you get an answer why the phone is getting very warm, please let me know.

Man gave up pretty quick on that one. I had the same problem from time to time but did the enhanced audio setting and it fixed it. Ended up switching out anyway because of trackball, but new one has been amazing. (Knock on wood)

I find that if you hold the Tour right up to your ear level, it messes up your voice transmitting. If you hold it lower where the voice transmit is closer to your mouth, it works fine. Likewise is using the speaker.
