Default Blackberry Bold on Verizon?

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone know the release date for the blackberry bold on verizon? I've heard rumors it won't come out until January '09 and I've also heard it might come out in September this year? Any ideas?

I highly doubt it will be september, as the Thunder will launch on Verizon before the Bold. Look at how long it was before there was a CDMA Curve after the original, and i'd say it is a safe bet it will be about that long.

Well is the thunder any good in your opinion? i'm worried about the the whole touch screen situation. It kinda defeats the purpose of a blackberry. I'm going to be eligible for a new phone in the next few months and I want to get the best thing available.

I will let you know on release day

I am mixed about the whole thing. In general, I hate touchscreens, but love BBs. Since we have never seen a combination of the 2, it may very well be great. I do like the fact that you can have it be either SureType or QWERTY depending how you hold it, and rumor is that you can make the font as big as you want, which in turn will make the buttons big too.

Q3 is the most definite answer I have gotten so far, which means by Oct 1. I just sent both my media contact and PR contact emails tonight requesting any more specific info they can give me.

Supposedly it will be sometime before Oct. 1 but I will post any new, more definite information I get. Hopefully I will hear from them tomorrow and will be able to update you then.

The Bold isn't even announced for T-Mobile USA. It's not expected (from what I've seen) to go to T-Mobile USA until 2009.

T-Mobile also does not necessarily have better service. Cheaper, yes - but that's not what's important if their coverage is less than par in that area.

I had t-mobile for literally a day. Their service sucks unless you live in a city. So I don't know why everyones raving over T-mobiles "great" service. What a joke.

LOL! Their prices are what entice people. It is by far cheaper than most, but as was stated above, coverage is what matters (at least to me as well). I am definitely willing to pay more for better coverage.

It would be a sad day for you and your t-mobile cell if you were stranded in the middle of nowhere. I'm happy with my verizon.... and I pity you :(

No need for pity. I was with a group of people in London last week and one person had Verizon. Their excellent North American network didn't help him much.

So you're saying T-mobile would've worked? Well, I don't know about you but I'd much rather have my phone work where I'm going to be spending all my time (US) not overseas where I'm not even going to be. Don't get me wrong, If I traveled to other countries and T-mobile had great service in other countries I would get T-mobile. But sadly I don't.

Yes, T-Mobile DOES work outside of the US. Different carriers work for different people. That's why we have choices! Your have your opinion, and others may differ.

My T-Mobile phone does, and has, worked fine for me for the seven years that I've been with T-Mobile (and Voicestream before them). It works in my house, at work and where I travel to - which does include places that Verizon doesn't...

Verizon is great. If you never leave North America. And want GPS.

I use my TMobile BB all over the US, Canada, Mexico, Caribbean, and Europe....Can't do that with Verizon (maybe the 8830 and the upcoming Thunder.)

Depending on where you stay overseas (what hotel) and in what countries, you might get CDMA coverage

I wouldnt count on it though, and it will be a very expensive stay.

Very, very limited. The list of countries running CDMA (and roaming with VZW) is extremely short. GSM is the global standard. Verizon had a great thing going with the 8830, but dropped the ball with the 8330 - which I will NEVER understand.
