Default Using Bose headphones & the Curve

Please Login to Remove!

I bought some Bose headphones yesterday and they work great except for phone calls. I can't hear anything when I am making a call? What Am I doing wrong? I have the phone set on vibrate without a ringer. What settings do I need to look at?

I dont think you are able to use your headphones during a call. When a call comes in, it should revert back to the phone itself. There's only certain accessories, like the ones that came with your BB, that stops the music playback, switch you over to the call. That's because the mic is attached with the earphones.

The online manual says this:
Use a headset
You can purchase an optional headset to use with your BlackBerry® device.
• To answer a call, press the headset button.
• To turn on mute during a call, press the headset button. To turn off mute, press the headset button again.
• To end a call, hold the headset button.
• To make a call using a voice command, hold the headset button. Say the command.
• To pause a song, press the headset button. To resume playing the song, press the headset button again.

So where in the heck is the headset button? I can't see one on the phone and in the manual, it doesn't show it either?

Ok, figure this one out then. I can get it to work, but only if I unplug the headphone from the headphone jack on the BB 2-3 times. Once it is working, it will work all day until I unplug the jack. Then I have to unplug/plug it in 2-3 more times before it works. When it works it is crystal clear....

Now... what is going on and how can I get it to work the first time I plug the headphone in?

Are you using an adapter between your Bose headphones and your BlackBerry? Seidio's site has the following caveat: "NOTE: Adapter must be plugged into headphones prior to inserting in your device." Link

Good point. I wonder if Bose has a adapter for it, or any other company? I'll doing some googling. If anyone knows, please let me know!

Thats funny, I have a pair of Bose QC3 headphones. They work perfectly with my 8330 with the included adapters supplied by Bose. Maybe it depends upon the Bose model.

Maybe Bose included the adapter I need in yours but not mine. My Bose is a step down from yours but I'm very happy with the crystal clear sound. I'm gonna look for an adapter today. I'll go to the Store where I got my BB Curve first.

while in a call, bring up the menu. On my 8320 there's an option like 'switch to headset'. It activates the headset when on a call. I haven't figured out yet how to do it by default.
