Default changing carriers, data transfer questions ( i searched)

Please Login to Remove!

I currently have a 7130e through US Cellular
I would like to switch to a 7105 through T-Mobile (better plan)
Now,
-I have all of my 7130 data backed up on my computer, will that transfer to the new 7105?
-How do i go about transfering my blackberry email to my new phone (if that is possible)?

And i would just like to add, my current 7130 does not have a SIM card, so that option is out.

Thanks to anyone who has any information for me.

Welcome to BlackBerry Forums!

Easiest way to switch BlackBerrys is to use the latest version of Desktop Manager, version 4.2, which has a Switch Devices wizard built in. It will back up all of your data, including messages, from the old BB and restore it to a new BB. Painless.

Good luck.

i think you should be able to go to bb's website and it should be under the download section...

Also, for the BIS acnt -> login and use the Change Handheld button (specify the new PIN of your new BB)

Question 7520 to 8700g?

I currently have a BB 7520 with Nextel and I'm going to switch to an 8700 on another carrier (since the 8702i still hasn't gone on sale for Nextel, and since we still can't get either RIM or Sprint Nextel to officially confirm whether or not that phone is actually going to be released). I'm probably going to switch to an 8700g or 8705g on T-Mobile.

Does anyone foresee any problems with using the process above to transfer my emails between these 2 devices?

I've heard of some people that experienced the problem of their new BB's Desktop Manager being unable to use the backup files from their old BB's DM, so I just want to make sure ahead of time that I can transfer over all my important saved emails.

There should be no problem with this. Just use DM 4.2 and the Switch Handheld wizard. Should work fine.
