Hi, I require a set of drivers for the 8900 which will allow me to charge my phone from my pc and transfer files between pc and bb. I would however prefer not to install and have to run the bb desktop software for the above tasks.

Is there a minimal set of drivers which will allow me to do this?

You need DM to transfer/sync data install apps and OS, etc. and to charge. I have heard of getting just the drivers for the charger, but have no idea how or where. Cannot vouch for how well it will charge however. Google maybe your best source for searching.

I believe I've see the installer download for just the drivers at blackberry.com. I noticed it one time when upgrading desktop manager a long time ago. Can't say whether it is still there, but I'm betting it is. Worth a search. That was just the drivers for charging, however...at least that's how I remember it. You'll still need DM to sync. But you should still be able to use the media card as a drive in mass storage mode.

That I don't know. I suggest you just give it a try while you wait for someone who knows to come along and confirm yes or no.

I think you may find that you can do it, like sending a file copy from your BlackBerry to another device, but only one file at a time. That's what I would expect to find anyway.

I believe you need the RIMUSB.sys and RIMUSBNT.inf drivers. They will need to be placed in Windows/System32/Drivers.
