Going to get it. I have a 7130g right now, and i *hate* suretype.. the only reason I'm sticking to the unit is because of the form factor. When the 8800 comes out, and if it has the rumored form factor, i'm a immediate customer for sure.

Can't wait to get a proper QWERTY keyboard :p

cheers

The only reason I am skeptical is because I hear it will have smaller keys than the 8100. I am a pretty big guy. I am 6 foot 1 and I weigh 180. If they are any smaller than I am going to hold off. I don't want it to be just like a treo keypad now :D

I don't need one, there is no logical reason why I would want to upgrade from my 8700 but I just must have one!

That's a fair enough concern - I'm not quite as big and I've adjusted to the 7100 keyboard.. I haven't tried the 8100 as no one here (Aus) is carrying them - even though, i wouldn't touch a Suretype again. Suretype and equ. works fine for Mobiles because SMSs have a limited vocab, but emails have such a broad vocab, that Suretype just annoys me.

If the button are as per the screens so far, they'll be raised and surprising easily to write with (*hopefully!*)

Cheers

The poll should have one more catagory.

I would like to get the 8800 but I just received my 8703C a couple months ago from my work. Currently it is not worth the $$$ for me to upgrade. If something happens to my 8703C (best BB I have had so for) then I will most likely replace it with the 8800.

In a nutshell. I am satisfied with my 8703C. However would cinsider upgrading if it was free. Until then I'll hold on to what I have.

I will be getting one - mainly because buying blackberries is the only way I get to use my corporate credit card, and a girls gotta shop KWIM?

OK - that was a joke. But although I really like the form factor of the 8100 I can't help but find that it's not the most 'sturdy' device ever made. I'm sure I will be buying a whole slew of 8800's for most of my users when they come out.

I think most of us are always looking for a new device...

8800 will be a great blackberry if it in fact comes as is speculated here.

Yeah, i think it's time to go back to the qwerty!

The most important if the screen doesn't get scratch easily and comes with a case. Unlike the 8100

I know for sure that I will get the 8800 when it first comes out. I love my 8700g but I want the new Today Plus theme of the 8100. All I can say is that the 8800 had best go to T-Mobile first, though, or they will have hell to pay.

The things I most want are the media player, SD memory, and WiFi ... What I don't want is the camera. That'll be my main sticking point with it, to be honest. Some people like cameras, some don't, and I recognize that RIM won't be able to make everyone happy. As with all the different versions of the 87xxy (8700g, 8707v, 8700c, 8705g, etc), I can hope that perhaps there will be 8800 models with and without cameras.

But if they make all 8800 series phones with a camera, then I hope at least they make a lens cap for it -- or some other way to hide it and protect it. And if not a lens cap, then at least offer cheap insurance for replacing the lens on a regular basis.

i love my 8700c but i am at the ohio stat university where our gigantic campus is covered in wifi, and i leave a block from campus. so when im on campus i can use wifi, also wifi in my house. could you imagine being at the ohio state vs michigan game with 106,000 people and i can use my wifi to check all of the scores on espn.com. now when i do it i have terrible service because of all the people. also im loving the new design and interested in testing out the trackball. camera is not an issue for me. so in closing yes i am getting the 8800

Bro, I feel you. 6 foot 4 240lbs here. The 88xx keyboard won't feel like a treo . Think of a hybrid moto q and bb 8700 keyboard .

Ya, but there is nothing like holding the unit itself and playing with it. I will see once it comes out. I am definately going to buy it and test it for a couple weeks and if I like it keep it, but if I don't then return it. I am also going to buy the T-mobile dash (coming out on the 16th) and going to play with it for a week or so and return it for sure before 14 days. (I have an obsession with new phones, I swear it is a disease )

Lol. I played with the htc s650 aka tmobile dash. Not my cup of tea . Feels like a damn treo . If I wanted a toy I would have gotten the hiptop 3 aka the sidekick . As for 8800 , I love it . Takes time to get used to it . To the trackball mainly . Now if only rim would be nice . And let "the few lucky souls" that did the testing too keep their 88xx's it would be nice. Take my word and go with 88xx you won't regret it.

Oh ya, I am going to get that and if it is good keep it. But I still play with every new phone that catches my interest. I am a geek like that
