I have not received it yet. I actually originally ordered an 8700c from Cingular because I needed one fast for my job. But I borrowed my wife's Cingular 8700c and tried to browse the web with it. It is so slooooow on Edge network, compared to my xv6700 on EVDO. It is so slow that it is basically unbearable.

And then to close the deal for me, I just started using the xv6700 as a EVDO modem for my laptop for the first time. Darn, that thing is fast! Browsing the web on my laptop with the phone as a EVDO modem, it is almost as fast as WiFi. So, that very night, I called up Cingular to cancel the 8700c order.

It has been 3 weeks waiting now, and I can't wait to get my hand on the 8703e. The xv6700 really sucks and it hangs at least 2 or 3 times a week. I really need the 8703e asap.

I theard the 8703 from Verizon was going to support CDMA/EV-DO in the states and GSM/GPRS internationally but I see nothing about it on Verizon's site or Blackberry.com. Anyone know if this is still coming?

Mine just arrived!

8703e Box on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Comes in an OEM box, not the VZW branded boxs that we are use to.

I received mine this morning...have had it for a few hours now... it's fantastic. SO nice to be back to a Blackberry.

No time to take photos as I'm at work... but I should have some up by tonight!

I took those photos with my VX9800. I activated the 8703e and the 9800 is off my account so I can not take and upload anymore photos. The device is beautiful, once I changed that crappy VZW theme.

Can someone run some benchmarks for new 8703e to see if it runs faster than its precedessors (7130e and 7250)?

Enter this web address in BlackBerry Internet Browser: http://wap.JBenchmark.com

1.Download JBenchmark1 and JBenchmark2.
2. Run them and post the scores here.

Thanks!
