Relax it wont go away, it will be there in 6 months, and think about it you have lived without for all this time, so another 6 months aint going to kill anyone. I agree it is sharp and I had hated the original pictures I had seen but after these new pictures and reading a bit more on it I too am impressed to paraphrase a co-worker that just saw it " . . . It is almost orgasmic." But I just got my 7250 a few months back and I am happy with it and since I pay my own way all around on this, it will have to come down in price enough for me to make the change, perhaps when the 9300 series come out.
awww...but i enjoy paying $400 to be a beta tester...afterall that's why i bought products from Apple too ;)

on a real note...I'm not touching this one till i have reasonable assurance that i can actually hear the damn thing while driving, and others can hear me....let's not even go there about the phone resetting, that was a charming feature of the 7100t's...i got so fed up with the 7100 that i went and bought a 7230 - no comparison in my book...7230 is much better (imo)

You can listen on the web too. They are in the Q&A right now. Conference call is over at 6:00.

That's exactly what I'm thinking (hoping)!

I'm told that Cingular has been working on PTT...

I've also heard November 1st for the Cingular devices (thru the grapevine).

Well that sucks - no mention of the 8700 in the conference call. The only thing I heard was a7100 for each of the EVDO and IDEN networks, and the Nokia 9300 with Blackberry support.....

yet they keep referring to exciting hardware later in the call so the question remains...what is up their sleeve?

OMG - rumors on the Internet didn't pan out.

Expect to see the 8700 in Q1, 2006.

Not necessarily. The exact quote from RIM:

"We have a great lineup of new products. Majority scheduled for release in late October and early November."

So, we'll see. The BB connection released next week (it's usually released at the beginning of each month) will probably contain a lot of exciting information.

As I said in another thread, announced vs. released mean different things.

Expect a lot of announcements. I still think the 8700 is a 2006 RELEASE. Meaning you can get it.

A fixed 7100 - absolutely now.
7130s - EVDO, iDen - absolutely now.

I stand by my made up, rumor filled release date

I just got off the phone with T-Mobile. As usual, they will not give a definite yes/no to specifics about new phones, but the agent did confirm that a whole new line of blackberry's will be out for the carrier by end of year. I guess, umm...woohooo? I just bought my 7290 and have 14 days (now less) to try it out...im thinking of returning it. Sucks to be divided like this. I love my Blueberry .

I was wondering why prices for a new in the box 7290 dropped to $140. I was about to buy a 7290 until I saw this.
