I have a curve 8530. Recently certain letter keys will randomly stop working, mainly the h and y keys. It's about a year and a half old, it hasn't recently been dropped and has no water damage. I've tried battery pulls and checked if it needed a software update, it didn't. Any ideas? It's becoming very frustrating.

I should also add that when it does this the trackpad will not scroll through the menu, it fixes itself anywhere from several hours later to several days later, however it's becoming more frequent so ANY insight would be helpful as I'm not able to get a replacement at the moment.

Are you sure that the device didn't get wet or was subject to any amount of moisture? Sounds like moisture damage.

I'm positive there hasn't been any direct contact with water, however I live in an area with high humidity so that could be a contributing factor, I've checked the phone sticker and the battery sticker and they're both solid white :/

And which phone do you really have? The 8530 per your post or the 8520 per your profile. If its the 8530, kindly update your profile.

Humidity could cause it as most electronic devices do not like wet.

What did you do just before this began to happen?

Ah sorry for the typo, it's the 8530. It happens out of the blue, I'll start to type out a text but when I press those buttons nothing happens.

Well it just froze entirely, I did a battery pull but as soon as the screen timed out it froze completely and won't respond, guess it's time to cut my losses and get a new one. Thanks for the help!
