Hey Guys, I keep hashing out in my head if I want to keep my Curve or return it within 13 days. I love it but in the end I'll have shelled out $290 after $50 rebate and """TMO customer upgrade discounts"""" for it.

My only issue boils down to price. I feel like a crazy iPhone user or something (Don't kill me). So I've got a question for any existing TMO or other subscribers or anyone that purchased a Curve without a contract that thinks they got a good price. How much did you pay? Where did you get your deal?

$290 sounds like a decent deal to me. We just paid that for another user's upgrade today on a one-year contract.

After holding out for a "too good to be true" deal that turned out to be just that...I knuckled under and got my 8310 for $199 after a $100 rebate by doing an upgrade with AT&T...and had to sign up for another 2-year hitch.

No biggie though, since I am not planning to jump ship from AT&T anyway...and I am stoked to be back to BlackBerry.

Personally, I've decided that 2 year contracts aren't worth it (if a 1 year is available.)

With TMobile you only save an additional $50 between the 1 year and the 2 year (Upgrade: 8320 1yr=$299; 8320 2yr=$249-after rebates) Devices are coming out at, at least, the rate of about 1 a year for most carriers. So, in a year you'll want the next device. The next device will cost you $500 instead of another $299. It's worth the $50 now to save $200 in a year.

Yea, I went through a few places trying to dodge the 2y contract. Couldn't in the end and the rep would not give me the TMO discounts without the 2ys. I buckled but then when the price of the phone slowly crept up from $249 to like $290 after fees and misc charges I started sensing a pain in my rectum... Now I'm thinking I'm gonna return this thing and keep waiting for a better deal.

I've heard of some people pressuring sales reps into giving up the phone for final total of under $200 but have had no luck myself.

I have never let a contract get in my way of having the phone I want. I just have to wait a month or so after the release to let all the hype die down...then buy it on the Buy, Sell or Trade section here or on Howardforums. I have found that I can usually save $200-300 doing it that way from normal retail...so it turns out to be almost the same as an upgrade price.

I just got antsy this time to get back to a BlackBerry...so I sold a couple of other, cheaper phones I had to buy this 8310. It all works out...

I paid $75 for my 8320 the week it came out (after a $50 rebate). One year contract. Signed up for the Amazon deal but had to go into a store to confirm my identity for some reason in order to have credit approved. I went reluctantly but ended up scoring an ever better deal and walked away with my shiny new silver (and first) crackberry. Rebate check just arrived this morning...stoked

Now if I only I were able to use it in my apartment without my apple extreme base station cutting off my calls...

This is exactly how I feel. I used to do 2 year contracts to save the extras couple dollars. But I have never kept a phone 2 years and especially a blackberry. I always want the newest one, so I dont get into 2 year contracts anymore.

And to the OP, its definitely worth it. Trust me, when I bought my first I had the same buyers remorse that you feel now. It wears off and you will actually appreciate that you didnt take it back. These are the best things ever.

Newegg.com has the 8310 with a new 2yr contract through AT&T for $25.

And Amazon.com has the same phone with contract for Free!!! Amazon also has Tmobile deals with the 8320, but not sure what they are..

I wouldn't. I have been with TM for a while and bought the Curve using my husband's upgrade (because I am not eligible for any upgrade discounts until March because I buy so many phones )

Anyway, we had to do a 2 year contract and we STILL paid $350.00 plus taxes but got a $50 rebate back. So about $340 after all's said and done...you still got a better deal. The Curve is so worth it.

I had to pay full retail for my curve-$449 plus tax/shipping. it wasn't worth it to me since I had gotten my 8800 for free. I'll be checking out the buy/sell/trade forums for my next phone.

I paid $75 at Amazon and got two rebates that total $125. When I receive the rebates I will have paid -$50. 2 year contract was required.

I'm on a month to month with ATT but just voice and my BB plan is with Tmo. I could get the 8310 for $99, sign a 2 yr and get it unlocked and use it on Tmo since I like the 8310 more. But I just hate locking myself into contracts. So I bought the ATT locked 8310 on Ebay for $360 (unlocked goes for over $500). As soon as I got it, called ATT, got it unlocked and plugged in my Tmo sim and viola. Sold my unlocked 8800 for $325. So all told and done, I spent $35 total without having to sign a 2yr.
