Ready to change the world??

Boy do I love the new blackberry with EDVO bandwidth. 24/7 live intranet connection.

I’m so lucky to be on leading the bleeding edge of an IntranetSites development that combines all normal forms of communication, documents, calendar events, tasks into one single data source.

Guess what is missing??..... Blackberry integration!!!!!

Just think of it; so many business calls on someone taking notes while driving down a freeway etc.

Eg: “Last week you said that you would be at the meeting at 2:00 and that you would bring the PROJECTOR!!”

Guess what? The projector was forgotten. It was not written down.

For all the consultants that I deal with they even forget to bill out 50% of their clients phone calls that day because it is too difficult at the end of the day to remember who they actually talked to.

You can help!

#1 SOMEBODY please program the blackberry to send a receipt for every phone call and the duration. Send it via email, or tie it into our web based database. This way the BB users can at least see who they phoned today and bill accordingly

#2 ..But This is the big Kahunna. It will revolutionize the WORLD as we know it
RECORD the PHONE CALLS and store this audio file on the users intranets management system.
Now they can review all phone calls; eg:; verbal contracts, directions , appointments, and directives.

Now no one is ever saying I forgot , or deny committing to some action, or contract.

Case closed! world revolutionized again and BB is the central command!

So come on board, what are your ideas and who can help make this happen

Regarding #1 - the BlackBerry already keeps a record of all placed and received calls, their start time and duration. That record may be forwarded as an email ... It may be possible to automate this process, but as a present day workaround your consultants can hit ALT, P within the Messages application to review the day's phone call logs.

Regarding #2 - you would probably have better luck with a 3rd party audio recorder that patches into the headset jack. Or better yet, design a Bluetooth device which operates over the Headset or Handsfree profile and contains a digital audio recorder.

Yes of course the person recording would have to declare that this conversation will be recorded and that the audio record will be emailed to them if they are in the consultants dbase.

if recording is not agreed then would not record.

gonna tryout the alt p here .. and then we can parse out data and map phones numbers and insert into dbase
This could work.

now lets have an automatic call dump every midnight, one that emails all calls or as they happen

sounds like forward motion

Default WEll alt p doesn't work ..

WEll alt p doesn't work .. I personally had 70 some phone calls today for 1/2 day and each one them requires an alt p and a input email address to forward them!! ACtually I did forward one call to my address record with email and it did not show up??

To make this functional we need to be able to mark them all and email them all at once, or it would never work. it would take hours to do each one individually.

Note... this would also be a great record of attempted phone calls .. nice record to show effort. Am using some of this tracking for legal proof of intent.

Another idea is to use voicemail to text transcription service www.dictomail.com or www.phonewire.com ... All your voicemails are emailed to you as text. And you can call your voicemail on the road, leave voice notes, and it will be emailed to you as a text email message within a few minutes.

Not bad Mark .. definitely could work

so you just finish a call and then you press voice mail and make your billing on the spot :
Client Frank Smith: 20 minutes consulting
new line appointment Thursday: bring projector

now if it emailed my software could automatically parse it out and populate his database record for another QUICK billing.

Hmm
hope the Client Frank Smith text conversion is accurate enough to get the right client record

guess one could do it as a manual mapping every time you logged into your Intranet. just to be safe.


Forward phone call records??

Can't get the forward alt P to show up in my email??

What we need here is a simple 1 step / automatic email of all phone calls to an email account / or direct connected to remote database, is ther such thing a xml or any remote db connection availbale with BB

Do this and your market share will climb dramatically HIGHER.

Programmers .. this would be amazing!! 3rd party software.. let make it!!

Okay how about the fact that when you find your contact on your BB and call them, the phone knows whom you are calling.

Now we just need to tie that refering contact link to that call record!!
.. we are already 1/2 way there.

BES 4.1 will have call-audit logging... i think that might make billable hours easier to rack up and keep track off.
