Default Getting a blackberry for the first time....

Please Login to Remove!

I'm thinking of getting a blackberry curve. This will be the first I have ever owned or used a blackBerry. At the moment I have sony Ericsson on 3g which has free unlimited msn. I use msn a lot. I know the BlackBerry has Wifi so I can use msn and the internet free by going to a place that has wifi. But does anyone know how much it would cost to use msn when not connected to a wifi network? I hear you have to buy an app? Is this true? If so How much does the app cost and how often do I have to buy. I don't want to buy the phone if the internet on it is going to cost me a fortune. I'll be getting the phone on pay as you go.

I don't believe all curves have wifi, make sure to check before you buy one.
I would go bigger and make the jump to the 9700, you won't be disapointed.

1. MSN or WLM (windows live messenger) is an app, and requires a Blackberry data plan [blackberry bolt-on from o2]
2. Without the blackberry bolt-on, it won't work over wi-fi at all
3. The blackberry bolt-on [depending on plan] is free to (last i read) £10 on O2.
4. WLM will not work on a generic "unlimited internet" plan.
5. O2 do not offer blackberry bolt-ons on PAYG plans, only contract and simplicity plans. [I do not know if they are offered on the new simplicity payg plans]

The Curve is 2G. I would go for the 3G 9700 if your carrier offers it.

All blackberrys need a data plan/service in order to Use the Device Functions. And yes you have to buy apps unless its free.
