Default Help with UMA on Curve 8520

Please Login to Remove!

I am having coverage problems with my Blackberry and want to connect using UMA (Unlicensed Mobile Access) on the WiFi of my BT Business Broadband Router.
BT Business Broadband
BT HGV2700 Router
WiFi is set up and works for my PC
Blackberry Curve 8520
Voice and data contract with Orange UK
The WiFi indicator is visible on the Blackberry with the WiFi name visible in settings and connection confirmed after giving the access key, BUT I'm not convinced the WiFi is actually being used for data transfer let alone voice!

The blackberry web site says I have to:
  1. optimize the Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA) voice service on a Wi-Fi enabled BlackBerry smartphone, the following settings are recommended on the Wi-Fi network:
  2. Configure all access points for Delivery Traffic Indication Map (DTIM) to 2.
  3. Turn on Wireless MultiMedia (WMM) and make sure that voice traffic is prioritized (that is, the UMA voice traffic is marked and it is prioritized over the wireless local area network (WLAN) link).
BT tells me my broadband router supports UMA as a by product of their now defunct Fusion service. So no changes are needed ... and the user interface won't allow this anyhow!
Orange tells me the phone supports UMA but will not assist as the Blackberry was supplied by Carphone Warehouse.
Carphone Warehouse tried to help, but referredme to the Blackberry web site ... which isn't much help.

Any help very welcome!

Wirelessly posted (The Dacia Sandero of data plan)

Go to Manage connections>Mobile network options>Connection preference -- make sure it's set to wifi only or wifi preferred. If uma is working your cell signal should change to a uma signal.

Is it an ACTUAL BRANDED WITH ORANGE blackberry?
It NEEDS to be a BRANDED ORANGE blackberry for it to have UMA.
