Default Tour video issues...HELP!

Please Login to Remove!

I am new to smart phones. My brother convined me (he has a curve). I expected to be able to view video from web pages other than utube. Verizon tech said the tour does not support the video from web pages other than utube. Is this for real? My brothers CURVE does and it's a few years old. The tech said that Blackberry would soon post a new softwear version that may or maynot correct it. Am I getting a smoke and mirror here? Anyone else with the tour able to say click on a video link at MSN or Comcast and able to view video? Does it require a certain video application? I have had it for 2 weeks and my softwear version is: APP VER 4.7.1.40
Platform 4.1.0.40
Any help much appreciated....I must confess it's a disapointment that my brothers will and mine wont.

Aye. The videos on MSN are flash that is why you can't play them. Youtube uses a link that goes directly to your phones media player. There are other sites that do the same. The mobile MSN site might have that feature have you tried there?

Anyone have any idea when BlackBerrys will be able to support flash!? I mean they've been around forever. Or atleast a better browser other then whats on the device. I want safari browser on my blackberry! It blows BlackBerry Browser out of the water! And Opera Mini isnt much better.

Yeah I didn't like the Opera when I tried it. Mozilla just needs to make one for BB's with full flash support.

If you go to msnbc.com on your Berry, the videos there DO work. Accuweather works. Not sure what else does.

I think a lot of sites saying they don't support your phone simply don't have things update to properly detect the 9630 browser, so they so "No". MSN should certainly work if MSNBC does, don't you think?

Msnbc was the site I was trying to see videos on sorry. When I went to their video section and clicked on one said I need to update my flash software. Will not play.
