Micropayments.
This has been done in some European countries for almost 10 years.
It was all the rage in the .com boom and bust. The end of cash.

Interesting.. I'd have to learn a bit more about it before I ever tried using.. It is broadcasting the data wirelessly.

1 - people like their credit cards
2 - people do not trust their cell phone company (everyone hates their cable AND cell phone company)
