I been on the phone now for 1 hour and they don't have a clue. When I finally got through to a group that could help, they told me their systems were down and that they would have to call me back

Can anyone confirm that this phone is out. Does anyone have one in their hands or being sent to them.

Nextel has there 7100 series on sale right now so I figure they might be coming out with a new blackberry soon. I did a search both on here and the web but found limited information.
Thanks
I am going to see a demo from Sprint/Nextel June 1st for their new BB 8700 model.

The 7130 IS out. I ordered 2 this morning from my Sprint/Nextel support team. I should have them in the next day or 2 and will let you know when I get them. I'll even try to have pics, if anyone is interested.

Unfortunately I will have zero coverage at my desk (in the middle of a huge building with not windows) for the next several months, until we get a new BDA installed. However, I have a test account I will be using and can see how it works at my house (since Nextel doesn't very well) and how fast it is, etc.

Thanks for the reply. They have not called back yet, I am going to call them again. What is the going price ? Send me pics if you got them.

Round 2 did it. It is now ordered. They will send me a phone with a temp number. Once I get it, i will call the port department to transfer my number over to sprint.

I will be able to use my 7100i until I port the number. Now, I just wait for it to come. Can't wait.

Did they say when it would be on the website and what the cost was going to be?

Like koleary19067, I called Sprint to order one...I think I only got transferred once to get it done. The shipping department said it would be to me no later then Thursday. If no one else posts pictures by then, I will.

Also like koleary19067, they gave it a temp number until it ports over. They told me it could take five days for it to port, but I have seen other people go from Nextel to Sprint and it take a day or two to port, so I'm hoping it won't take that long.

I currently have the 7100i, but wanted to move to Sprint because...
A) I wanted text messaging...I would use it WAY more often then my DC, so that was an easy choice.
B) When I'm in a stadium for a sporting event, I can NEVER make a call with Nextel and anyone who calls me never gets through. This may be something with the network where I live, but that annoyed me to no end. Everyone I know with Sprint at the same games never has a problem.

It was interesting buying it sight unseen, but as long as it works like any other Blackberry, I'm happy. Give me function over form any day. I thought of going to a Treo, but I didn't need the extra bells and whistles...and my corporation doesn't offer much Treo support, but their BB support is great and I need the push email, so no way was I paying $400+ for a Treo when I love my BB (the 7100i being the second one I've owned).

Anyways, can't wait to get the package...I'm hoping it really does get here on or before Thursday (hell, if it got to me tomorrow, I'd be more then impressed!).

Wirelessly posted (7100i: BlackBerry7100i/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/103)

I paid 212. I thought that was a steal. Also the reason I got a temp # is because they would have to put in a startup date and I rather not. They told me that the port takes 5 min to do but could take up to three hours to take affect.

I will post pics when I get it

Yeah, mine was $212, as well.

3 hours? Hmmm...maybe I mis-heard them. I was multi-tasking when I was ordering, so maybe I just heard them wrong. 3 hours is better then three days!
