Default "+" signs keep appearing before numbers! HELP!

Please Login to Remove!

I am using an unlocked Tmobile curve right now in Asia. Whenever I dial a number or receive/send a text there is a "+" sign before all the phone numbers...causing me to not be able to dial from address book or reply to texts....is there a way to fix this problem?

Open the Phone Dialer, then Options, then Smart Dialing

Make sure the first field is properly populated with the Country Code.

If you're dialing within the US from the US do you have to have the +1 there? Or will it be fine if you take it off and put it as unknown so it can just dial the 3 diigit area code and phone number I have programed under my contacts?

Thanks

in the (Phone Options) push Smart Dialing and there you should see>> Country Code +1; area code:"your local area code",
national number length:10;
Use "1" for National Dialing must say YES

This is for US dialing in US!!!

Actually the 1 is not necessary for national Dialing on most carriers in the US.

I've never seen the + sign. BTW, my Smart Dialing options are:
Country Code +1
Area Code 434
Natl Number length 10
Use 1 for Natl Dialing No

These were the Default Settings that came on the phone with the exception of the area code.

It's a good thing, you will be able to call people from your phone book direct with +1 when you're outside the country.

Did the same thing with my phone book ages ago, every number is now +44, with the exception of those that make no sense from an overseas location, breakdown recovery and that sort of thing.
