Default Latest OS: 8110 4.5.0.152/4.5.0.110 (English + Multilanguage)

Please Login to Remove!

Software For BlackBerry 8110 (TM)

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.152 (Mutlilanguage)

Software For BlackBerry® Pearl (TM) 8110 smartphone BlackBerry
Handheld Software v4.5.0.152 (Multilanguage) from At&t

Contains English and other languages

This will work on ANY carrier's 8110 model--not for the 8100, not the 8120, not the 8130.

Package Version: 4.5.0.152
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.5.0.110
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.90
* File name: 8110M_PBr4.5.0_rel152_PL2.7.0.90_A4.5.0.110_AT&T.e xe
* File size: 96.83MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Download from https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...E4F82F9F00E7D4

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

Anyone else on AT&T and find that they cant get BB Maps working anymore? I have deleted the LBS.alx and all the lbs files in the Java folder and replaced them all with the ones from the BB Maps 1.2 download just like I always do, but this time it doesnt even recognize that its there.

Usually it will say version 1.2 in the app loader but now it says 4.5.0 no matter what I do or delete etc.

It would also appear that removing the ptt cod and its related file from the java folder had no effect either. It would not remove that module even when doing a manual update.

Does nothing:

The Push to Talk presence status indicator for one or more of your contacts may not match the actual current status. For example, even though one of your contacts has told you that they are logged in with a status of Available, that contact may have a different status, such as Silent, on the BlackBerry smartphone.

Hello folks... a few questions from a new BB user. My girlfriend just got a pearl 8110, and so I am wondering what are the benefits of this OS over the stock installed OS? what was the biggest draw back of the stock OS and how or what is better now?

4.5 OS enables the functionality of HTML email which the stock 4.2 OS cannot do. I believe it also will enable the camera on the 8110 to record video, though I could be mistaken.

I could be wrong - I had just assumed that it was 4.2. 4.3 would have already enabled the video camera, but that's about all that I know.

Yeah my 8110 has 4.3 on it with the video camera and I didn't have to install any new OS. Other than that and the HTML e-mail, are there any other reasons why I should update? I ask because I am a Mac user and it's a hassle for me to get on someone's PC and get Desktop Manager, etc.

Thank you.

I don't see Vendor.xml

The only .xml I have is Device.xml -are they the same? Should I delete that?

Thanks!

thanx rachamphetamine, hers is 4.3 also. I guess I will look around a bit more before upgrading to 4.5, unless someone else can chime in on the reasonable differences between 4.3 and 4.5
