It's plenty loud.

I consider myself part deaf. No headset or cell phone ear piece is ever loud enough for me. I don't have any complaints regarding the volume level of the JX10.

That's good news, thanks for the response. I'm going to see if Best Buy has them, if not, I will order online.

I've tried a whole load of headsets and my money is on the Jabra BT range (I'm currently using the BT250). There are two key things to be aware of here - one is compatibility and the other is comfort (which most people forget). A headset has to be comfy and I find the Jabra both comfy to wear and secure.

PaulPoker, I use my Jabra with my 8700v and have no problems at all.

For the money, I support the 510 too. If you can find it on ebay for $30 you can't go wrong with that one.

Ditto on the Plantronics 510. Works flawlessly. Easy to set up. Doesn't look too bad. My only beef is the TINY on off button. But an all around great headset.

Default Modified Jabra JX-10

Volume and functionality-wise, JX-10 has been the best for me. But, the ear clip has proven too fragile - broke while in my pants pocket. Glued a clear eargel to it an voila...a VERY loud and comfortable headset. Wish I had done this from the start.

What's the most comfortable headset you've owned? I want one that I will forget I even have on after awhile.

Thanks,

Eric

Default Comfort

Sounds like the Plantronics 640 is the way to go for max comfort. Any other suggestions for headsets where comfort is my priority?

Thanks,

Eric

The 640 is very light however I found it did hurt my ear after I wore it for long periods.

I went to Best Buy to check on the Jabra JX-10, their price was 179!! I ordered one from Amazon for 119. I know there some being sold online for 99 but I know Amazon has a great return policy should I need it.

Free enterprise I guess.

I bought my JX10 at Airport Wirless at the Philadelphia airport. I was leaving for a trip, saw the had it and wanted to see it in person not wait for an internet order.

Intially they wanted $199 for it. When I sort of laughed and told them how overpriced I thought they were charging for it they balked and lowered the price for me to one I was much more comfortable with.

I know what you mean. When I decide to get a gadget I want it now and I don't want to wait for it, but in this case the price difference was enough that I decided to order online. I'm really looking forward to getting the JX-10, it was WAY smaller than I thought when I saw it at Best Buy.

Default Jabra BT800

Although this headset is not the lightest on the market.....I like it because of the caller ID feature on the earpiece along with the fact that it vibrates and rings when a call is coming in. I am a road warrior and find these features come in handy when behind the wheel. I can leave my BB in the case or wherever it might be and simply look at the earpiece Caller ID.....along with not having to worry about missing a call because I have the radio turned up or my window down.

Just got my Jabra JX-10, this thing is sweet! Very very small, calls sound great and volume is good. I tried it without the earhook and it stays intact really well. Seems like a great combo with the BB 8700c.
Thanks Greenberg for the info.

I'm trying to decide btween JX10 and HS850. I've had bad luck with all bluetooth headsets so far. Everyone complains about terrible echo. I was thinking it was the blackberry. I have a 7130e.

Have you had people complain about echoing with the JX10?

I have the HS850 and the H700. Everyone complains that the H700 has too much static. The HS850 sounds better but has some static as well. I am using both of them on my 8700c. Any suggestions?

My first headset was the Voyager 510, it was good but I couldn't get past the look of it. My second headset was the Tekkeon EZ talker mini which had awesome volume but it had a bad echo. Finally I recently got the JX-10 and I think it's the best one I've had so far. It's really small and has great sound quality and the volume is good. I have not had any complaints of echo at all. I like the fact that the earpiece goes into your ear rather than resting outside your ear like the Motorola's. I think that is why they are never loud enough for me. It seems like a good combo with the 8700c.
I hope this helps.
