New User - Problem with Ring & Alarm Length

Firstly apologies if this has already been covered elsewhere but I have searched and can't find any answers to my issue. I have a Bold 9700 and can't seem to get it to ring more than once when there's an incoming call. First of all it will vibrate several times then ring the once then vibrate a few more times before going through to voice mail. I have tried playing with the options and going through the maunal but to no avail. At the moment the ring tone is a standard ringer from the Blackberry options.
The other issue is that my alarm only sounds the once when it goes of fine some mornings but not on others. Again I have tried plying with the options and going over the manual but to no avail. I want the alarm to continue sounding until I turn it off from the phone.
Any help anybody can offer wouldbe greatly approciated.
