How does someone find out if someone repackaged my maybe new bb9700? I have number other then mine listed in Call Forwarding "In Options\Phone Options" and in the Voicemail too.
I activated with BIS, and it didn't say it was already registered.
It could have been registered previously, but it the PIN was dis-associated with the old account properly you wouldn't get any kind of error message. VM having a different number really smacks of the device having been used before.
BlackBerrys don't have life timers like typical cell phones so there is no good tattletale. You can see if your unit has seen more than 60 minutes of voice calls or 250K of data though.
Options > Status - from within the Status screen type "BUYR". Just type it, don't worry that there is no field in which to key it in.
If your phone was used more than 60 mins it will only say exceeds 60 minutes and the cap on data is 250K.
I check that settings. It say's voice has used 2:26:27. (is that 2 hours and 26 mins?)I only made 3 calls.
The device also came with Poker installed?? Does the BB9700 come with pokergame?data usage is at 8mb, which is about right.
I knew i was getting a little bit taken. It came with the wrong charger too... It had all of the tape.
Only reason i was concerned. the unit crashed a couple times, and when they activated the sim card was already activated...so flags. How fool proof is the status? Can it be wrong?
It's like a car. If it was ever titled it cannot be classified as new. Maybe "like new", but certainly not brand new. The question becomes is the quality pristine? New/like new is semantics, but if you paid a premium for a brand new device, that's not kosher.
