Yes. my situation is the same. I tend to let it run on the phone.

UberTwitter Soon To Be Updated!

Quote:
*As of now the update is not currently available just quite yet, the updated Beta 2 will be released soon though*

A little while back now we posted about a great new Twitter client that was available as a beta download. Now we bring news to all those out there who have downloaded and been using ÜberTwitter that it is soon to be updated. Those of you who submitted feedback may want to have a look to see if your issues have been addressed.

@CodeWarden has been hard at work making ÜberTwitter better as a whole so if you dont have the latest version be sure to download it and check it out. Read on for a list of changes and upcoming fixes/improvements.

The list of changes to the new version are as follows:
Sound/Vib notifications - different profile for new tweets, vice replies
Manual and/or longer refresh
Increase screen name field size on Options screen
Increase GTalk user field size on Options screen
Add Direct Messages To and Direct Messages From timelines
Add 'Follow' to context menu when clicking on @screenname
Bug to fix - Fonts not resetting on change (need to exit now)
Add option to not show confirmation dialog after every tweet

A list of changes still to come:
Seperate Sound/Vib notification profile for new DM

TRIM battery usage significantly
Add View friends
Add search
MUST add BIS support
Support built-in GPS as option
Select pics already on device
Add shortcuts - T tweet, some key to refresh
Add thumbnails of pics attached to tweets in the timeline, either from twitpic, or from UberTwitter
View persons timeline by typing in twitter name
Add mentions to timeline, perhaps as option
Visual indicator that app is running
Different indicator on home screen for new tweets, vice replys, vice DMs received
Fix all bugs!

Ubertwitter tweeted this morning "You all will be happy to hear that @codewarden just squashed a BIG memory leak! Fix will be in Beta-2"

Now if we could just get our hands on it!

I can't express to the Storm owners how much better this app runs then the others. I also learned that you use "exit" instead of "close", so your battery doesn't die within hours. It amazed me how fast that app killed my battery but it's all good now.

thought this was kind of odd.

I put ubertwitter on both my storm and my g/f's 8220. Did this close to when it was released so we've both been using ti at least a few days. Tonight we both went to dinner and BOTH clients were crashing. On my storm when I ran it some of the tweets would disappear and reappear when I selected them. when I went back to it every time it would crash. I would rerun it and it would do the same thing.

On the 8220 it wold launch, but just not do anythhing.

Now on the storm it seems to be working again. The same tweets from earlier are "ghosting" out but the newer ones are working right and it is not crashing.

On the 8220 it is still not working.

Weird.

Yea, this app has only thrown a Java errors at me.. maybe 3-4 in the few weeks I've been using it.. and only once has it locked up my BB forcing a battery pull.

Haven't seen my font shrink but I use a pretty small font to begin with.

Still by far my preferred twitter app.

If it has been too hyped and not what were expected we always jump on the TwitterGenius hype

Ya, I've heard that too. Its a bug the developer said. Should be resolved in the upcoming beta.

Personally I haven't had any battery issues with the app. I have the refresh set to 20 min... perhaps that is why.

Got mine set to 30 minutes, but I'm also running MySpace, FB, Weatherbug Direct. Not to mention the music I play to car stereo when driving..

Wonder what it could be

I don't have battery *issues*, I have a ME issue. I set my refresh to 3 minutes. So it WILL drain the battery faster than if set longer. So, I have a routine to "EXIT" the application when I'm not in it. That preserves my batter, but also it gives me a chance to be at the top of the new Tweets when I open the application. There's no way on my Storm to go to the newest tweet. So, exiting and reopening is helpful for that. One action, two benefits.
