Hi,

Instead of having 2 BBs in my pockets, I asked my office to put my BES on my personal BB. It looks like their IT police isn't too bad as I kept my BIS accounts, facebook, twitter, etc. I only have some concerns about my privacy. 3 questions:

1-Can they get access to my BIS e-mails through the BES server?

2-Same question for my SMS

2-Same for my browser history.

To answer your question, I am leaning to no they cannot. but if they know your persoanl e-mail address, they dont need BES to try to gain access right.?? .. but If you're that worried...why bother doing it in the first place..?? ya gotta make a decision here methinks...1 BB and possibly no or compromised privacy or carry 2BB's. I mean if privacy is ultimately the biggest issue. I ask again, why do it.?

Just what kind of company do you work for..?? and what are you doing on the side that you dont want them to find out..LOL..?? hmm maybe la wife works in your IT department..?? and just how big is this IT department..??

I worked for a company here in Canada with 75 employees...we were all on Notes / BES. 2 guys ran the IT dept. To tell you the truth, they really had no time to start snooping around in each and every persons e-mail: personal or business. 1 guy was busy re-building laptops or wiping them and reloading or concerned with bandwidth used - megs/gigs DL'd - and making sure there was enough room on our servers by getting the slackers to delete their 30 meg e-mails nor was there ever any concern on what website you went to unless you were an idiot and DL'd LimeWire or some other crap that could comprimise your laptop.

The other guy ran our internal company invoicing/billing/inventory system. 1 IT guy per 75 people is likely a decent enough ratio to work with...Sooo, if your company has 50 employees and 25 IT guys..??? you are either working for Homeland sec or in Area 51.!

I'm not THAT concerned but I'd still like to know... As the IT sucks at my company I guess they don't have time to go through that stuff but you never know...

Let say I'm looking for maybe another job, it may be best if they don't find out about that through my e-mails ;)

I never recommend mixing company and personal data, especially on a company BB when they carry the freight. They can lock down whatever they wish.

The BES admin sees all the apps installed. they can see all corporate email and text messages. they cannot see your BIS email messages but know you are configured for the service.. Now if that does not make you feel good and secure look at my current Blackberry devices and see I have two because i dont and wont take any chances.

Which is why my bold 9000 is my personal device......and the company I work for now has yet to take the "Bold" leap into some future with BB's..so we are mostly on Snail phones. Yet its interesting that pretty much all the reps have their own BB's...

I wouldn't trust them (the/any company), regardless....
