Question App World - Upgrade your service - Storm .141

Please Login to Remove!

Hello Everyone

After upgrading to .141, I started receiving following error message for App World and email setup. Though I can browse and receive emails fine. The data plan is working fine.

Did the battery pull out but did not change any thinng.

Any Ideas?

App World Message:

Upgrade your service to a plan that includes browsing and discover a word of possibilities at BlackBerry App World. Contact your service provider for details.

Email Setup message:

Your device had problem connecting to the server.

I get this error when I put in a wrong link. Do you have an unlimited data plan? I don't have one and I get this error quite often when I try to access websites like YouTube etc.

Yes, I have unlimited data plan and it is working fine. Only App world and email setup is giving the error as described in the my 1st post.

Thanks

I think it is unfair to state that .141 has many bugs and insinuate that this must be his problem.

To the OP, are you on a BES or BIS? There has been issues with App World working on units attached to a BES. It is merely a file that needs deleted. This will also help in diagnosing the e-mail issue.

As a side note, I am running .141 with a BES and BIS account on my handheld and I can access App World just fine.

No, I am not on BES or BIS but I will double check with my service provider and report back.

Thanks

It sounds like you do not have a BlackBerry data plan. That is needed for email to work as well as App World.

Unlimited data plan is not always the same as a BlackBerry data plan.

A BlackBerry data plan is different from your unlimited data plan. You should go to your carrier and tell them that you want a BlackBerry data plan so that you can use BES and BIS.
