Default Icons missing after OS update

Please Login to Remove!

I performed an OS update earlier today and all is running smoothly on my BlackBerry except for one thing I have missing icons now. I made sure they're not hidden and I went to the BIS site and had my service books pushed to me. I can send and receive email easily but I no longer have a browser icon or any of the other service book pushed icons such as BlackBerry Help, etc...

After resending the service books I went to options/advanced options/host routing table and registered but that didn't help either. I made sure it wasn't deselected in the desktop manager either.

I rolled my OS back to 4.2 and even after that I was missing icons. I wiped the handheld with JL_Cmder and tried the older and newer OS and the same thing occurs.

I know RIM is upgrading BIS to BIS 2.5 this weekend but the outages are set for evening and I can send/receive emails normally. Could this be a network thing or is it my device? My carrier feels it's my device since it's unlocked and from another network so they're not willing to assist me much. Their advice was to go buy a new branded device as they can guarantee service on it.

Anyways any help or advice from the experts would be nice to hear.

if you did a full wipe and you still cant get them back, it is definately on the carriers/RIMs side of things. call them back and dont tell them its unlocked. if theydont help, keep calling back until someone does. youll eventually get someone thats nice, and hey, the call is free, so why not.

sorry, but thats all i got

This could be part of the issue:

I'm sure it was due to the issue Juwaack68 posted above. The outage is over so give it another try. You might wait a little while so things can catch up.

Thanks for the feedback guys, it's been about 4 hours now and still nothing. I've resent the service books many times and reloading the OS also and still the same thing. Not sure what to too think right now. I'm glad I have access to email but it's weird not having a browser. I've installed Opera Mini which is working but still curious why my browser and other pushed icons won't show up anymore.

Okay well here's an update the browser icon has finally appeared but if I go to options/browser the only choices in the default browser configuration menu are: Wap Browser and Hotspot browser. Before I always had 3 choices: Wap/Internet and Hotspot.
